I will be getting married in May and need advice on where to go. Have you been to places in the U.S. that you would recommend?

No, more than $1500 and preferably all inclusive but will take other suggestions as long as they are in the United States. Reps to those who help.

Oahu sounds like the one if its Hawaii. We would like to go have fun and all instead of just having sex the whole time. Thought there will be plenty of that.

If you have the time to get a passport, I recommend a cruise around the Caribbean. For $1500 you could go on an absolutely amazing cruise.

I heard it takes a while to get those. I have never been out of the country or checked into passports. It would be nice, especially free alcohol.

Inclusive with alcohol is VERY expensive and will go well over your budget. On 99% of cruises you pay for drinks but all food is free. I typically gain around a pound a day on a cruise.

It took me about a month to get my passport so unless you are planning on getting married sooner than that, it is doable.

Savannah is nice around that time of year...

...Puerto Rico is a good choice.

Cumberland island is beautiful and is one of the only untouched pieces of land in the us. It is very exclusive and I would highly recommend

Guess I won't be doing that then. I checked the http://www.uspassportnow.com/ and it said I could get it quick enough but I assume I would have to be married bc her name on the passport would be different due to the fact she would then have my last name. Any other ideas.

No lie about Puerto Rico, my father is from there. If you go, go to Ponce or San Juan.

If not go to a Cabin somewhere in the states man. The scenery of nature is just great.

My wife's passport still has her maiden name on it and we have been out of the country several times since we were married.

I just renewed mine - 6 weeks - you have time.
Her official legal name won't change until she submits the paperwork for the name change at the courthouse, so her maiden name is what will be on her passport, and will be correct.

you can get a passport in like 2 weeks if you pay the expedited fee.

Check into the new Royal Caribbean ship that just launched its got like central park in the middle

I went on a carnival cruise last year on a cheap ship it was like $500 a person for ticket, 5 days, food included (breakfast lunch and dinner), beer is like $4 a bottle but its 16oz beers, i spent $500 on alcohol, gambling etc. I was buying drinks for a lot of people in my family too. you could totally have an awesome time for around $200-300 a person without gambling. We went to the Cayman Islands, all in all it was a great time. I had heard a lot of bad things about cruises, but there really is enough things to do for everyone to enjoy. Most of the time you hang out by the pool until you get to the island or gamble, or whatever. Contrary to what i heard from other people too, the dinner and breakfast food is REALLY good. I mean you have lobster, prime rib, salmon, bourbon chicken etc theres like 10 things to choose from for dinner menu. On top of that theres a bunch of desserts, appetizers , etc. Breakfast is buffet or order and its really good too. Lunch its kind of chill, they serve burgers, fries, hotdogs is what most people eat, but you can order other stuff too. Its really kind of a laid back meal

I was born on OAHU and lived there a lot too, cant beat hawaii at all. Bellows beach, diamond head, turtle bay, north shore, etc

Cool. I think we are going to stick with staying in the states for now. Save the cruise for next summer. Reps

why don't you try niagra falls. either the new york side or canada side. both have fun things do. plus you get to enjoy the romantic part of the falls and fireworks.

Expedited passport is a whole lot less than 2 weeks. I got mine in three days a couple of years ago and nothing has changed since then. It was a little over $240 with mailing, photos, all fees. Niagra Falls might be a pain without one since a lot of the attractions in the area are in Canada. The waterpark, casinos...

So the important question is what do you like to do? Everyone is suggesting the beach, are you into beaches? Do you like mountains? Hiking, cabins? Do you like big cities? Have you traveled much? Are you looking to just relax or see a lot of new stuff, go out to bars and clubs, museums, nature?

There are a lot of fabulous islands off of SC, GA and north FL that offer a lot of peace and relaxation. The SW is great for a completely different landscape. You could book a week at a lodge and airfare if you buy far in advance and are good at hotel shopping. CO is gorgeous and you can find good deals at some of the ski areas in the offseason. Still not dirt cheap but deals are there if you try to find them.

San Juan/Old San Juan and Ponce, PR are beautiful. You would really enjoy those, and the food there is amazing.

I would NOT go on a Carnival Cruise. They fucked us pretty good. I've always had a good experience with Royal Caribbean, however the new ship 'Oasis of the Seas' would be out of your budget. A cruise, by far, is the best bang for your buck. You can get a balcony for roughly $500 per person, but the alcohol is pretty expensive. I don't drink very heavily and I regularly spend $300-$500 on a 3-5 day cruise, just on alcohol. Some websites have packages for honeymooners/newlyweds, etc, which include airfare.

I've never been to Hawaii, but on a $1500 budget, I would just go to an all inclusive resort somewhere in the states. Maybe in Florida or something.

Did they change the laws regarding passports and international cruises? We went on a cruise for our honeymoon (2007), and they did not require passports at that time. I think it was definitely the best bang for our buck. We went on a 7 day/6 night Carnival cruise to 3 ports in Mexico. For both of us, it came out to under $1,000.00.

Congrats on the wedding by the way, and where ever you choose to go, have fun!

Playa del Carmen Mexico and you'll stay somewhere nice. IMO $1500 wont take you far in Hawaii, especially on an occasion where you want to be served. My grandma is Hawaiin so i've been there a few times...just sayin'

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is bad ass if you get a passport. I went there to build a playground in Cap Cana for the the owner of the Punta Cana and got paid mad money with all inclusive at Punta Cana, one of the best weeks of my life. Thats when I went deep sea fishing and caught my marlin. I only had to work about 6 hours a day and the rest of the time i was drinkin free drinks in the pool bar and ordering two plates of fillet minon (sp?) and lobster tail for diner every night. Would love to take my wife there.

Mexico has a lot of cheap packages also if you get a passport...

Damn that is one tight (budget wise) honeymoon.. I hate cruises.. It isn't even shy of a "fun time", I really can't image anything worse.. Seems like torture to me.. I honestly would rather get a cabin in North GA for like 5 days..

We decided to go to Savannah and save a little money. It will be cheaper and we can put money in a savings account for buying a house.
