iam wanting to lower my 99 civic, about a 2 inch drop.
i wanted to buy lowering springs but was told that my shocks would blow.
so i guess i would need new shocks but was told that it wouldn't make
a difference it would still blow and to go with a coilover system,
my main worry is that if i buy the lowering springs will shocks blow even of i buy new shocks. just wanted peoples input here on ia. thanks
any comments welcomed

ive never had an issue. i found its mainly when the shocks are crap or about to die when they blow.

i've lower my old 3000pound eclipse 4in with ebay coil-over with 2 blown shocks, it was riding smooth even over bumps.
if you get stiff springs, it shouldnt matter too much even on blown shocks
lowering 2inch on stock should not be a problem. though it will shorten your shock's life
shocks control your bouncing problem, but if your springs are stiff it wont be too big of a problem.
the springs on the eclipse were 25-30% stiffer than factory
im putting some ebay spring on my 2000ex at the moment, i'll give you feedback once done

like i stated, IT DEPEND ON THE SPRING, soft spring = bounce stiff spring = little bounce
where you located? if not too far i'll give you an idea how it ride

i bought coil overs for my 96 ex and slamed it as low as it would go.(4 inch drop). but im tuckin 17s. i blew my struts in less than 2 hours.haha im bout to switch to air ride. but u can get lowering struts and i heard itll help alot. im till on stock struts and it beats the hell outa me. its rough. lol if im goin down the highway and hit a bump i dont stop bouncin for like 5 sec.! so go air ride. its a lot smoother. like a cadilac haha.. just remember its NEVER TO LOW!! dont be scared to drag ish!!
