stupid fruit flies!

does anybody know how to get rid of them??? i had some onions that went bad so fruit flies swarmed my apartment. i've thrown the onions out, but the fruit flies won't go away...they're nasty!!! i've cleaned my whole apartment, but they won't go away :mad:

hmmmmm, that sucks. im sure any bug killer made for flies would work, unless your one those anti-killing bugs people. then youll have to get some nasty guy to come over, spray him with some fruit stuff, and maybe when he leaves they will follow him out.

i was chasing them around last night with clorox wipes & i thought i killed most of them, but when i woke up this morning, i swear they multiplied!

get a dish with soap and water put it under a nite light. its for fleas but i think they are attracted to light as well. or bug bomb

They sell these traps online for them. Basically it's looks like a jar of fruit, and the scent attracts the flies, once they're inside they can't get out and die. Apparently it's good for two months or so. Here's a link:

I know how. Didn't read the whole thread so IDK if anyone said it yet BUT....
You get a glass and put either some sugar water or some wine or some liquor in th bottom of it. You don't have to fill it up..just like an inch or so. You cover it with tin foil and stick a straw down thru it. You have to tape it so that the straw doesn't get into the liquid and make sure the only hole is the straw. This way the files fly into the straw to get the liquid, but they are too dumb to find their way out. Do like 2 or 3 of them around the house and don't leave anything to drink or fruit out for a few days.

OMG I am having the SAME EXACT Problem...I have tried everything, the bug man is coming this week! My roommate and I are like clean freaks, so I have no idea where they are coming from.
What I suggest:
Get one of those foggers (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.), that kills any of them that are in the air, and you won't see one for a couple weeks. Go to your leasing office and have them get a bug specialist to come out and spray.
Also, if you want to do something immediatly, get some vinegar...pour into a jar, and poke holes in the top. Flies are attracted to vinegar, and when they get inside the jar they won't be able to fly back out. Another thing is vegetable oil...pour the oil around your sink. When the flies get the oil on them, it enables them to reproduce. Those stupid flies can make up to 11,000 baby flies per week or something...Getting some over the counter insect repellent spray would be a smart idea too...spray in your trashcans, on lights, and in the sinks.

I know I know...I HAVE done some research, b/c they are annoying little fuckers. I have no idea where they came from either.
