I have a hole in my carpet on the edge from where my puppy chewed it. Is there a way to repair or patch the carpet or am I going to have to replace the whole damn room?

Just curious, I am trying to get my house up for sale and I don't have a lot of money to spend to fix this.

YOU CAN PATCH IT UP... BUT IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE CONDITION OF THE CURRENT CARPET IN THE ROOM

HONESTLY IF YOU ARE SELLING IT... I WOULD LEAVE IT ALONE.... THROWING DOWN CARPET IN ONE ROOM WILL COST NO MORE THAN $500 WELL DEPENDING ON THE SIZE I GUESS...

YOU COULD ALWAYS OFFER A $500 REPAIR ALLOWANCE IN YOUR CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE.. THAN IT WILL JUST COME OUT OF YOUR SALES PROCEEDS NOT DIRECTLY OUT OF YOUR POCKET... YOUR BUYERS WONT REALLY CARE ABOUT IT AS LONG AS IT GETS FIXED BEFORE THEY OCCUPY!

I MEAN DO WHAT YOU WANT... THIS IS JUST MY ADVICE...

BUT TO ANSWER YOUR ORIGINAL QUESTION, YES CARPET CAN BE PATCHED.. BUT UNLESS IT IS IN GOD CONDITION IT WONT MATCH UP RIGHT BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PUTTING BRAND NEW CARPET NEXT TO WORN CARPET...........

well the house is only a year old and the carpet is in great condition - especially in that room

THAN ITS ALL UP TO YOU.. I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT PATCH IT.. I WOULD JUST MAKE IT A CONDITION OF SALE.. AND BUILD A CARPET ALLOWANCE INTO YOUR FINAL PURCHASE PRICE... THATS WHAT I WOULD DO. AND I WOULD ADVISE YOUR REALTOR THAT YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM DOING SO.. THAT WAY WHEN THE PROPERTY IS BEING SHOWN, YOUR PROSPECT BUYERS DONT GET LEARY OF THE DEAL!!!
