View Full Version : 1985 BMW 535i build

Well, here is the build of this classic. I bought it as a "daily driver" but it had a blown head gasket. I bought a parts car with a good engine and Recaro seats, posi diff etc etc. I already pulled the engine from the parts car. I also had another parts car but I stripped it same day and crushed it.

The plan is semi stock with suspension upgrades and all new parts. Basically rebuild it stock with some newer upgrades to make a good daily driver. Unsure of exterior color but it will stay yellow for a little while.

my neighbor has a 87 535i with the full lip kit, and spoiler.. runs flawlessly.. u need help..with it let me know!

I bought a black 86 535i tonight for cheap. Runs and drives but has all kinda of electrical issues as expected. Has perfect door panels and other interior parts was my biggest reason for getting it.

Explain then. M20 has 121 HP as where my M30 has 182 HP.

And a Ford F150 has more then that but a M30 would beat it.

Well the build will move along after the first. We are finally moving into our house where Ill have a garage (basement) to work on the car.

Well looks like the car is going up for sale... found something I like better. E34.. picked it up today for $1000. Its clean clean clean and over $20K in service records in the glove box not counting the dealer replaced engine in 97.
