Thought i would be trendy. :gay:

S10 that i am soop-n up. Updates will be not be daily but will be fresh yo.

Purchased the truck on the third of January of 2010

It is a daily as of today but who knows later.

Here is a picture of when i first got it...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h58/thinkskater007/Firstpicture.jpg

It had a few problems that would show them selves up front at the time of purchase. Ended up having a ton of starting issues. And i also had to get it legal to pass the Missouri vehicle inspection. Put a new wind shield in it, got all the lights working, and fixed a leaking brake line.

When i got the truck to pass inspection I immediently tracked down a solid front end. And just installed it this past Saturday this is the first real build deal I have made for this thread I guess.... but I did learn something with this ... that its friggin hard to stop what your doing and take pictures. Once you get into a groove its tough to stop.

Lolol. We're on the same page in a way it seems. The first thing I was going to comment on was to get rid of that hideous grille. Looks like that was already in the mix, lolol.

Something else, is this an S-10 or a Sonoma? You say S-10 so I'm wondering why you stick a Sonoma grille in there. Later, QD.

I completely agree about the GMC grill. Reps for saving an S10 man. They are great trucks.

thinkskater
03-02-2010, 08:21 PM
s10's are okay. honestly the truck is so much more of a challenge to work on then anything i have ever worked on. guess i am too deep no to stop really. i like it. lol.

i assumed QD would be one of the first few to post on this. cool that we are on the same page lol.

owned a couple of s10 blazers and loved them. any motor swap in the plans. i love the 4.3s, but a v-8 always works too. good luck.

oops forgot to post the Cavalier seats....

for those who are interested , the seats did bolt up. i had to turn around a bracket and bend them on both sides and a total of six holes to get the seats in there ....

so where ever u see " cavalier seats bolt up" on the net. They lie. Hard.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h58/thinkskater007/Caviseats.jpg

over all - well worth the 20 bucks i paid for em. were a pain to get in. but glad they are in now.

AV8ter
03-03-2010, 09:07 AM
Dig the seats man. I bet they are nicer than the stock s10 seat you had in there. I wish they made a set of leather cavi seats at some point because the stock tweed they used annoys me.

thinkskater
03-03-2010, 06:37 PM
thanks guys. the seats do bother me a little because the sit a lil high i did some research and i was suppose to use the s10 bucket seat brackets. but the only problem is the steering wheel is a bit too close to the seat. and i plan on getting a after market steering wheel any ways. so. oops but not really.

Headlight assembly's came in too late today to put in but still took em outta the box and played with them...:D

i went with the most oem looking projector i could find. i always ran oem headlights in the civic that i had hid's in so. thought i would try this. hopefully. it is a good investment if not, head lights a freakin cheap yo.

should have them in tomorrow or sat..... teaser!

Idk if you posted or not but wuts the suspension setup

thinkskater
03-05-2010, 08:54 PM
trust me man. i want this thing lowered so badly. but its not as easy as a 30 dollar coilover kit. well kinda. if i werent looking for it to hold up against alotta power i could get a kit that includes drop spindles lowering springs and drop leafs for like 300 but i am going to hurling power at the back so it has to hold up. so the only real part of my build thats not budget is the suspension. i am going to put tubular upper and lower control arms with qa1 shocks (Damping Adj) also i am going to convert the rear to 4 link and use the qa1 adjustables as well. which will not be cheap , but will get my truck about a 5 inch drop in the front and a 6 in the back and will do it while having alotttta power thrown at it and hold up

wow. that was alotta explaining. o well.

update
finally had a time to take a peek at the 350 i was hoping was in good shape to build. got it for free so there were slim to none chances.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h58/thinkskater007/motorbeginnings.jpg

spun a rod bearing but me and my dad measured it out and the factory size is 2.100 and the size of the good rod journal was 2.099 and the spun journal was 2.097 :)

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h58/thinkskater007/rodjournal.jpg

and the only crazy looking damage is the rod bearing. OUCH.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h58/thinkskater007/spunrod.jpg

anyways should be dropping by the machine shop to see what they say for sure on the crank still being good.
