My 7 year old daughter starts playing soccer this year and this weekend marks her first ever game. Well the coach got called away and can't get out of it and he, knowing of my history in the sport, called on me to take the helm. Needless to say I'm not looking forward to it because as well I can play the game, I have no idea how to coach it.

Well, this ought to be interesting. Later, QD.

Bingo. And if they stink, you can blame it on the coach haha

Oh yeah, it should be an ok time. Just don't want a shitload of soccer Mom's all over me because their child didn't get enough playing time or I showed favoritism towards mine. I'm sure it will work itself out and the children will have fun. Maybe my daughter will be the soccer prodigy that I once was. Later, QD.

And that's one of the first things they teach you about coaching. To throw out the scoreboard. Later, QD.

dude thats badass!! my girlfriend is a childrens soccer coach!! she loves it!!!
you should have a lot of fun because the coaching wont be to hard because they all just run around trying to kick the ball haha,

there not playing for skill, mostly for fun at that age!!!

All in all, I should have a good time. I don't think I will volunteer again, though. Don't mind helping and showing fundamentals, but to oversee the team is not what I want to do. Maybe I'll feel differently after this game. Later, QD.

What time is your game? Ours is Saturday at 8am. Should be a good season for us since my son is back on his old coachs team.

So I'm guessing your daughter will start, hehe. It's not easy taking a job like that, especially if you never saw the team train. You don't know who is good at what, lol.

We lost, lolol. Final of 8-6. But all the girls had fun and that was the more important part of it. Later, QD.

Well since you know the sport I k ow you know a team with young girls around your daughters age. The game is more of just running around chasing the ball. Given some girls may know the positions good enough there is always the little girls that just run around, get in the way and, try to get in their kicks.

Just be a good coach and make sure the girls have a fun time in the game and you did great. :goodjob:

Edit.
Shit. Should have read two posts up...
