Just curious if the owner of the Silver (might have been suzuka blue) AP2 that raced me this past friday was on here. If so props, if not I guess he'll never read this. This was only the second race Ive ever participated in with this setup. The outcome of both races were very similar with the first being a header/exaust 99 Camaro.
When I got on 85 @ hwy 53 exit he went past me in the left lane. Next thing I know we are both weaving our way through the idiots driving 70 in the left lane. We are both rolling 85, he is in front of me the whole time in the left lane and Im just riding in the right rockin out with my earphones to some Oh, sleeper. As we approach commerce exit I notice he starts to slow down a bit then nails it when we are even. I intentionally didnt try to race him before this because I always used to hate being picked on by faster cars. I wouldnt try to race my car in an S2K unless I had a turbo.
Anyway, traffic got really heavy all the sudden and I couldnt catch up and was afraid he'd just take off. Then around exit 160 I cleared the last trucker and see him pull into the right lane. I drop to 3rd and let him hit it then I go. It takes a split second to hit my powerband and btt I actually get my T56 to go into 4th (something it hasnt liked doing lately) I look in the rear view to see a large gap. Around 5-6 cars maybe, and much to my suprise there was no import fly by. So I gave him the :goodjob: and he did the same. Very rare to see an impromptu racer to be so cool. I imagine we ended up racing out of boredom as he kept going when I hit my exit near SC.

You think an S2000 owner's mentality is above that of a Civic owner? LOL. Right.

well if i raced you even if you beat my brains out i would want you to hear my car when i'm next to you, no fly by's those are plain dumb and i have raced/played with cars that i know will beat me all in good fun and usually we both have fun doing it, like 2 weeks ago heading downtown a guy in a red viper came up to me and we stayed together and he was impressed when a stock stang GT 99 model wasn't able to pull on me at all and that guy got a kick out of it, i think my car is faster than i think because the last few times i have played i have actually stayed with cars i din't think i could stay with but until i get my tranny replaced i won't go to the track to launch, but when that happens i'm gonna blow up my old one first!!!
also what were you doing at the winder exit, next time you are here PM me so i can come play too!!

What do you have done to that car if you are keeping up with a Viper? If you stayed with a Viper you should have completely left the GT.

didn't run right next to him and don't think he was pushing that hard, the moral of the story is he loved it that a GT couldn't outrun me and honestly the GT sounded stock, we went from 985 to almost downtown following each other and that is when other people came to play. hell no i can't come close to beating a viper, no way jose as stated he was suprised at what i could do and honestly so was i because it's been awhile like before i changed a few things out on the car recently. there is no way i would say i am near the fastest but i can drive like a mofo, your sol would prob beat me if you have tuned it and put some $$ into it. i'm just a car nut plain and simple, doesn't matter what you have as long as it's done right i can appreciate it.
honestly since i have been on road atlanta twice, each time in a different si that is what i really like instead of straight line racing, which is why i have the setup i do is for cornering and accel. drag racing is cool but i prefer the road atlanta atmosphere just my 2cents.

oh ok, my bad... I read it wrong about staying with the Viper. I understand now. lol, my fault. I was just confused. That's cool, and I agree about appreciating cars when people do them right and do it for the right reasons.

allgood i reread my post and is is misleading in a way. i still wish my car was faster but i'll get to it later down the road. i will always keep my SI, i have had 2 of them and regreted getting rid of the first but soon my g/f will get an inheritance and i will get a subie or who really knows, def something faster stock and modify it but i will def keep working on the SI, right now it's dirty because of the kids, another reason i have not really run my car lately is them and the fact that i cannot turn my head as fast anymore due to a pinched nerve so i take it more easily now but sometimes i like to have fun. just the other day there was a g35 coupe with some duals, and a silver srt-4, and eve a v8 caprice like 80's model joined in and i was never left behind by any of them until i said fuck it and slowed, 120 is too fast coming up to downtown and my suspension is not fully there yet.
