not sure if i should post this here or in the wheel/tires section. mods move accordingly

here's a shitty online photoshop i did. not at home, no picks of my car with me, so this isn't my car, but it's identical to mine besides the front bumper.

wheels as they stand:
see my sig.

what i'm thinking of doing:

i want it to be subtle.
thoughts? if you don't like it you don't like it, and i understand that, and i wanna hear your honest opinion, but please don't be dick about it.

You photoshopped wheels on a car that is like yours but has a different bumper cover yet you have pics of your car with the wheels already on it? Are you planning on getting that bumper I guess?

no, the pic of my car with the wheels on it is the one in my sig. i'm at family's house right now, so i don't have any pictures of my car on this computer that i could shop and the one in my sig is too small. so i found a z32 on the Zforum with my wheels and paint so i could see 'pretty much' how it would look on my car.

eh, not a fan of your wheels on z32's

you can pick up a set of my wheels in good condition for around 300. dirt cheap. i'm not gonna be able to sell these for squat anyways so i'm not really worried about that

Hyperblack/Chrome Shadow looks decent on a white car but it's not a cheap process.

that looks damn good. how much and how complicated? It's a gloss black powdercoat or paint base, extremely thin 1 micron thick "chrome" spray, finished with a clear powdercoat or paint. Not too many places have the ability to do it.

GarageZero has a paint that looks similar to it though, you can try asking them what it would cost...

I think that would be a nice touch to your wheels. I would do it as a last resort kinda thing if you cannot find some nice after market wheels

hmm i might stay away from that then. i don't wanna do something and have it come out half decent.

thanks, and i'm planning on buying aftermarket wheels, but when i buy wheels i'm gonna be dropping a fair bit for a GOOD set, and that's not high up on my list right now, so i just wanna do a little something to what i've got for now, until i get a new set down the road.

i can't tell the difference.

the sides of the spokes are blacked out.

that's what i'm thinking.

I am really considering painting my rims, but I can't get myself to do it.... I want the black on red thing going, but if I end up painting them I think the value of my wheels is going to decrease.... I just dont have the 1k for a set of Axis, yet alone 4k for a set of Volks.... being a college kid sucks.

agreed. your wheels are worth about 1k with decent tires if the wheels are in good condition, so if i were you, i wouldn't paint unless you plan on keeping them a while. but my wheels aren't worth anything anyways so i don't care :)
