This weekend, we took home two first place finishes in NASA Time Trials at Virginia International Raceway, but also had the unique opportunity to race against a Ferrari F430 GT that is being prepped to compete in the 24hr next year. I've never had so much fun chasing a car around a track.
Too bad I only had 3 laps worth of fuel on board....I ran out. :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt5i9RVzZmc

That's the first question everyone is asking...haha...it was Mike Davidson behind the wheel for this video. Skeen is one of the drivers that will be doing the 24hr next year. Skeen did a 1:55 on the full course on Sat.

Damn that's quick, makes the GTR look like it's standing still.

I think he was referring to the sudden acceleration during the lead in lap.

Great Vid Sharif, thanks for sharing.

Give us your assessment. On the opening lap when the green dropped I was on his bumper until the kink and he pulled away a bit but not like I was standing still. I grabbed it all back under the braking zone for T1. We played this game for pretty much the whole time.

On the second lap, I nearly passed him before the kink, but the traffic made me rethink that (we passed the MS3 on the inside of T1-T2.

Overall, he came off the corners faster, the straight line power was comparable, and I gained the advantage in braking.

Awesome Sharif, that'd be so much fun. You could really tell that F430 was getting faster by the lap and that skyline just has so much torque and grip

On a side note,
I need to give Skeen a congrats for his upcoming success, i've been so out of the loop lately. He was only one of the first people to give me driving tips, and we use to work together at Xtreme Measures. I would love to see some of him in that 430, he is absolutely incredible driver

Good eye. His tires were warming up, and mine were melting down. :D

I did my fastest lap of 1:32 on my 2nd lap, and he did a 1:30 on his 7th lap.

Mike Skeen is a great driver, and great coach/person. He is really fast in anything he gets into. He is bound to set new records with that F430 GT.

Don't waste your time, he knows nothing about racing, and has it in for the GTR. He thinks it's not worthy of being on the same track as the 430. He's just a fanboy.
