I'm trying to decide which subcompact 9mm is going to be the best performer as my primary 'concealed' weapon. ;) I will more than likely be carrying this gun in either a shoulder holster or a hip holster. Currently I have a full size M&P 9mm and LOVE IT. The Glocks are relatively cheaper, but the ballistics speak for themselves. Which do you guys prefer, the S&W M&P 9mm compact or the Glock 26? :2cents: Thanks guys! :goodjob:

Here's the 26:

And here's the M&P 9c:

*Note: It does not come with the laser sight; this was just be best 9c with a decent resolution I could find quickly.

Thanks fellas!

it's what ever that fits your hands nicely...but since you already have the m&p, and love it, id say go with that in subcompact. and thanks for making this thread, ive been looking for a sub compact gun, and now i can add this to the list.

Thanks for the input! I've been weighing options, as I'd like to conceal in a shoulder holster. Both of these guns are excellent performing guns. I do like the M&P a bit better, but it is a lot heavier with a loaded magazine than the Glock. So...I'm just trying to see if anyone actually owns either of these and what their input is on concealed carry.

my glock 26 is pretty accurate. M&P are quite popular now but i dont really like em too much myself. shoot both of them then see which one u like better.

Do you carry your 26? I'm leaning more towards the 26 for carrying purposes, strictly because it is lighter weight, a bit smaller, and definitely just as good of a gun as the M&P. I'm actually going to pick one or the other up tomorrow. I'm leaning very heavily towards the Glock though. :goodjob:

lol actually i let my GF use it as her ccw. i had a glock 27 awhile ago as my ccw but the thought of subcompact as a daily carry lost my interest. my glock 23c is actually lighter than the 26 because the compensated ones have less metal.

ever thought about upping it to a glock 19? perfect fit IMO. g26 is too small of a gun for me to carry. my hands arent big at all neither. i just feel more safe having a larger and more comfortable grip if i ever got into a gunfight. i daily carry a springfield xd9 bi tone service model right now. great gun but the glock 19/23 with a hogue grip is the best and most comfy feel in my opinon! very easy to conceal as well!

actually springfield xd has more muzzle flip than glocks because the slide is a bit heavier and larger. and glock standard triggers are about 5.5lbs and xd is about 7lbs.

i was more accurate with my glock 23c than my 9mm springfield. but i am slowly adapting.

Guess it depends person to person. Glock 19 is great. Stand law enforcement issue. I didnt seem to think so with the XD45. Actually it does have a 5.5 lb to 7 lb trigger pull. Thinking i just got a lil lucky.

Thanks for the input; I have considered the XD, as you can get MANY tactical accessories for a lot cheaper than you can for either of the two pistols I am looking at, but since I am purchasing the subcompact solely to use as my carry weapon, I don't need a lot of tactical accessories weighing the gun down. :goodjob:

I'm selling my P239 and hopefully buying Tybalts Glock when he PM's me back. I've gone back and forth between the two mentioned and own a full size Spec Ops M&P 9 and love the compacts as well. A side benefit of getting the M&P is that all your full size mags will fit the compact as well. I had leaned that way but I'll probably end up getting rid of my M&P and getting a Glock 17 so that benefit wasn't worth it to me. The P239 is a nice gun and fits me very well but I want something with a consistent pull from shots 1-2 and a bit more capacity.

I am biased towards SA. I carry my full size XDM everywhere and would say go with the sub-compact SA but to each his own. Of the two you listed, I would personally go with S&W.
