The first hot pursuit felt almost revolutionary. The first time I remember being chased by cops and avoiding spike strips. The first and second undergrounds were cool, but NFS started as more of a simulation with supercars instead of civics. I like tuner cars, but it felt like a regression. They tried to go back to the old format with the Shift game. The fact that I had to race on a track and they forced me to drift to get through the game made me drop that game before even finishing.

I loved need for speed 3 (hot pursuit).. and High Stakes. I had them all on PC. I remember sitting in my room until 3-5am on school nights playing those. Then I got Hot pursuit 2 on PS2.. It was great. Both of the undergrounds were great too!

Most Wanted was terrible.. The stupid ass story line was god awful. Only good part about Carbon was the autosculpt option.

I haven't got to play the others yet.. maybe later though.

Underground 2 was the best because you can modify the engine and i would say NFS Hot Pursuit 3 was good.

Grid is the fucking best, but need for speed underground 2 was the shit everything was customizable, trannies could be setup to decimate in the drag racing, and i could out drift any of yall in that game with just stock setup on an evo

My favorites were Underground 1&2. Me and my friends played the first one to death. We would drag race the RX7 VS the S2000 (fastest cars on the game btw) over and over. My friend's car was the RX7 and mine was the S2000. About four or five of us would take turns racing each other. After about 20,000 races we determined that the S2000 was the fastest car. If you caught 2nd gear just right the RX7 didn't have a chance. If you missed it you lost.

I loved the second one too. I spent way to much time tuning the Civic. I finally got the fuel map as good as I could get it. I would tune, dyno, and drag over and over. Tuning the suspension was a lot of fun also. I'm a Gran Turismo guy for the most part but I loved these games.
