A few friends and I have begun our own version of P1 ALMS and GT2 class racing. Private lobby, so we can weed out the garbage and get in some good, close racing.

There are a few rules, of course.

- Microphone is REQUIRED to play, since we expect driver courtesy and communication when passing, especially when negotiating lapped traffic.
- No TCS or STM, forced manual transmission. ABS can be chosen at your leisure.
- We only run tracks that the ALMS cars race on, however, be ready for LeMans and Nurburgring. Otherwise, plan on the regulars like Road America, Sebring, and Road Atlanta, etc.
- Be ready to do at least 6 laps. This guarantees that the lead Prototypes will encounter GT traffic. This is what really makes multi-class racing exciting!
- We run full damage, and hold cautions. If someone wrecks (and I don't mean just spinning in a turn), the entire field slows down. We're all about everyone finishing and getting some $$/XP.
- 4 in each class, MAX. 4 R1(P1/P2) cars, 4 R3(GT2) class cars.
- As it stands, the R1 cars must remain stock with the restrictor plates intact. We're still ironing out the R3 class. The Panoz must stay stock, Porsche GT3 RS-R can ditch the restrictors, but check back here for updates anyways.
- If someone wants to choose a P2 class (since it is in R1), that is their choice. The restrictors must stay on. As we found out, the Mazda has a ridiculous advantage with them removed.
- No restrictions on tuning setups. Be careful when downloading a tune from the storefront, b/c some of them require illegal parts.
- CAR MUST HAVE A LEGIT RACE LIVERY.
- First place GT car ALWAYS starts the end-race timer. This ensures a fair shot for the GT guys at getting money and rank points.

Now as far as our 'schedule,' it really just depends on how often we're on. For those who start playing, I'm sure you'll add another person or two out of our regular group, so I won't always be on there to host.

If you aren't used to running a clean lap with little to no assists, I suggest honing your skills first so you don't get left behind, or ruin anyone else's shot at a victory.

Off the top of my head:

Current ALMS P1 (R1) cars include the following:
Aston Martin Lola - #007 ONLY.
- Stock
Audi R15 TDi - #2 ONLY.
- Stock
Audi R10 TDi - #2 and #8 ONLY.
- Stock
Peugeot 908 - #8 and #9 ONLY.
- Stock
Acura ARX-02a - #66 ONLY.
- Stock

optional P2 cars...
Mazda Lola B06
Acura ARX-01b
Porsche RS Spyder

Current ALMS GT2 (R3) cars include:
Porsche GT3 RS-R (997) - #45 and #80 only.
- Remove restrictor plates ONLY. Stock brakes.
Panoz Esperante GTLM - #51 and #81 only.
- MUST REMAIN STOCK
Ferrari F430GT - #71, #90, #62 only.
- mods pending
BMW M3 GT2 (E92) - #92 only.
- mods pending
Dodge Viper Competition Coupe - #11 only.
- mods pending

Now, MOST of those cars in the game have the paint scheme from the 2008 or 2009 season. I've got a few additional liveries for my Porsche, since the #45 Flying Lizard car is the default paint and someone may want to use it. There's also a few liveries out there for the #66 Acura ARX-02a, such as Patron/Highcroft Racing.

Now as far as where one would start...most of the time, we allow people to pick and choose what class they want to run. Some folks actually have an easier time driving prototypes since they turn on a dime and have ridiculous amounts of grip (with proper throttle control). Regardless of who races what, we will always have the field split with 4 prototypes and 4 GT cars, just to ensure the challenge.

Tried this out, tuned up a RS-R and these things are slow as shit without TCS, you have to go so fucking slow in and out of turns just to keep from sliding out.

Oh I have gotten down to controlable. But I just dont like this whole slowing down thing. With TCS on I could blow through most of these turns. A bit more tuning and I will be happy enough with it to really race.

What he said. Looking to 'keep it real' hahaha. However, we may try to expand and see if the Ford GT can be upgraded within reason. The problem you run into with that is people get a little free-spirited and we'll get some jerk in there with a turbo'ed unit on street tires that annihilates people in the straights.

Oh, forgot another GT2 car: Viper Competition Coupe.

I'll have to do some testing with it to see if it needs upgrades in order to stay competitive. I'll come out with a complete list of allowable upgrades to the GT2 cars so we can keep it competitive. I can tell you right now that the Panoz GTLM will always stay stock. That car is a threat with a decent driver at the helm.

I'm not familiar with the car, but having read your other post, don't forget that all cars will have the RWD layout. I don't know if it's possible to AWD swap the Viper CC, but we'll get it ironed out. Hahaha, I think that race would've been different if that guy in the Peugeot had actually LAUNCHED instead of sitting there while I ran into his ass end at the start. That gave you a HELLUVA head start. ;) That shit came down to the wire at the end, haha.

But yeah, you were def. bringing the pain in GT2. We were missing 2-3 of our regular guys that night, and they make ALL the difference.

I'm definitely looking forward to doing this more often and getting a good, solid crew of folks to race with. Even though I only won my class twice, I had a BLAST.
