Okay, so I'm in Calculus, and I just found out last week that I don't need it for nursing. I don't know if I should drop it or not. I'm not going to lie, it's very hard, and I'm worried that if I don't do good then my GPA will drop. If it drops my GPA significantly, I could lose HOPE, and I can't afford to go to school without HOPE. On the other hand, if I stick with it and do good, then it'll probably look good when I start applying to nursing schools. I don't want to drop it, but it may be the best thing to do in the end. The bad thing about dropping it is that I won't get the money back for the class. I just want to get your thoughts and opinions. Thanks. :)

if you're already doing good then dont worry about it, just keep at it...finish up and call it a day.

if you aren't... then, i'd say drop it.

i say drop it cause cal. is a bitch, you dont need it, and if you mess up and lose hope then you would have to wait for a semester or 2 to get it back, which would really suck

finish it.

take whatever measures are necessary to do well in the class. (study groups, tutors etc)
Personally, I wouldn't be able to put the money time and effort into a class that I would drop not even halfway into the semester.

if nursing program doesnt require it then they wont care that you took it. classes that only apply to the program are important. drop it unless you drop alot already b/c that can hurt you overtime as well by "running" out of hope hours...

i haven't dropped any classes yet. the only reason i took calc was because i thought i needed it for nursing.

a few w's on your transcript wont kill you. Its better to keep your mind where it needs to be then to stress over one class and lower how you do in your other ones. Anyway, since its the nursing field, i doubt they will take a second glance at your classes taken, and will only look to see that you have a degree since there is a void in the amount of health care people (nurses and healthcare in general.)

If you can pass it, and if you work hard you can unless your grade is already super low, don't drop it. You can probably use the credit for something, even if it's not required for your major. Plus hope already paid for it, it will count against your hope hours.
