Hey guys,

Haven't posted in a while so I figured I would make it good.

I just bought my '95 318is back from insurance today and wanted a little help. I had planned to buy it back to part it out, but now I'm second guessing myself...

I have around 4,000 to spend on the car, or I could part it out and have more to put toward a car I would purchase later.

Choice 1)

Put money into the 318 with the rebuilt title.

the car already has bilstiens and eibachs, m3 front bumper, side skirts, and mirrors. Corbeau driver's seat and a set of 18x8's. Supposedly a cam...?

NEEDS:

New exhaust and rear bumper (neither is a big deal)

I'd like to do a crazy motorswap like a 1jz (2.5TT from JDM Soarer) or something along those lines. The 1jz can be had locally for around $1000, and I would expect another $1000 for the drive shaft, motor and trans mounts, and at least 600-1000 for t uning. The wiring would not be a problem at all. I want to do something different, and more cost effective than a BMW power plant.

I DO NOT WANT S50/S52 SWAP. That would cost me all of my budget and still having a stock motor.

Choice 2)

Get new car. rwd, 5 speed and 2 door. Prefer boosted.

Give me your ideas. It's just a car to me. I'll be happy as long as I have around 300 to the wheels.

part it out be done with it. regardless of how much money or what you do with it. you'll get half of what its worth because of the title.

One of three things will happen if you keep it, you will get bored and try to sell it and loose a ton of money, you'll get half way through the swap and fun out of funds and sell it for half of what you have in it or you will swap it and be in over your head because that swap is not gonna be cheap. part it out and call it a day or buy another one in stock form and boost it.

part it out. Too much effort to swap over. The amount of issues that come up might be to annoying. When i did my six speed swap the info was there and plenty of info to read to make the transition seamless....

Boosted M52.

If you're going to keep the car, this is what you need to do.
