Hey guys, I'm pretty new here, although I've been lurking for a bit. Unfortunately my title isn't a clever lead in to a car that is actually fast. This is my 05 RX-8. Just hit 40,000 miles and I put on new pads, rotors, plugs, other random stuff so I thought it'd be a good time to wash it and snap some pics.

I'm not a photographer so the pictures are pretty mediocre, but criticism is welcome and appreciated

Thanks for the welcome! Right now my plans are to keep it running while I get through school. It takes most of my spare cash just to keep up gas/insurance/maintenance (senior in high school ftl). Hopefully once financially secure I will turn it into a track toy and get a beater as a daily. Luckily it's still a pretty fun car in stock form.

Nice car. It looks like you failed in tire shine application though. About 1/2 of the tire is glossy and the other part just looks neglected. :(

Haha I figured someone would comment on that. I had too little tire shine and I tried to ration it. You could say I failed miserably. I'll be heading out to get some more to finish the job.

nice car. you know i don't think ive ever seen a silver rx-8. they are always red, yellow, white or black. looks good in silver.

Stock RX-8 and fast do not belong in the same sentence. Handles pretty well though...

cause they are low for how expensive they are, my 95 with a simple swap can smoke them all day, i love that body thou, it's just a mattter of time before i get one and drop a 2jz, sr20 or f20c in it cause gas milage sux on that rotorary and no power to show for it

The guy I bought it from has an LS1 in his new RX-8 I believe. My dream swap would be a ported n/a 20b but to each his own

It was $14,500 when we bought it a little over a year ago. We got a pretty good deal on it, only 29,000 miles at the time. Unfortunately the value has depreciated pretty rapidly. I have $3,000 left to pay off so I'm getting close!

I paid $8000 at the time, my dad covered the rest. Now I'm paying the rest off to him with interest. I also cover insurance, gas, and maintenance.
