personally I love metric cruisers! Keep it and bob it out like this guy did.
before and after
you got a good big motor on that 1300, it would be a nice start, this one I think is only like a 750 but still looks raw

My only problem with this would be that I would want a back rest. If you get a cruiser, get something you can relax on. At least that would be my mindset. My uncle just finished his trip with a bunch of other retired GSP officers. Met up in ATL, rode to Vegas, then to Montana, Into canada a bit, and back to Atlanta. I think it was like a 3-4 week trip.

bah! that argument can be had with customizing any vehicle, you have to pay to play. certainly you have to consider what you would be doing with it. I just want to roll hard and have something different, blinged out Harleys and crotch rockets bore me, a bobbed metric honda cruiser you don't see everyday.
I want a bike that looks like it was dragged out of a swamp, rusted fenders, patina chrome. Like you might get tetanus if you sit on it the wrong way but with an engine that runs like a champ, import cruisers have that...and they are liquid cooled so they won't overheat like air cooled harleys do.
