Picked up a new steering wheel today. Got a Grant Classic GT wood wheel and slapped it on there. It's a bit smaller than the factory wheel which allows for more leg room for me. I have a wood shift knob on the way now. Later, QD.

Dammit, now I'm going to have to come up with a new title for when I install my steering wheel. :ninja:
Ew, I hate woodgrain shit on cars.

I was going to, but the people that were going to redo them closed shop (I guess). So now the search is on for a good, low price upholstery shop. Later, QD.

I love the steering wheel, but I feel it clashes HARD with the dash. if you could find out what kind of wood or find the same color and get the dash replaced with it, it would look a lot sexier. True, it's not 100% oem.

I thought of that as well, but what you don't see is that there is quite a bit of shades of the same wood mixed in with the dash wood grain. Later, QD.

What are your plans? I don't really understand this build. Why this platform and etc?
Restoring it to your liking?
Doesn't match the wood dash color. Looks out of place.
Hell, you have a golf cart rear view mirror in there, i'm sure out of place is the least of your worries.

Of course I'm putting it to my liking. Who else would I be putting it towards? I saw your first comment.

I know what your talking about with the leg room, ever sat in a starion? i guess your honda has the same tiny leg room. if your over 5ft 5in ya don't fit!! and if i remember... your kinda tall so thats gonna still be tight

Yeah, lolol, 6' 1." And this thing has a lot less room than the Starion, but yeah this helps tremendously. Later, QD.

I just ordered this wheel as I am going to try to more closely match the dash. I think this will suffice.
What do you guys think?

Not only is it a closer match for the wood, but i think it looks more period correct. Just my 2.6 cents

No ma'am, I didn't. I stand by them as what I said rings true. But I don't mind suggestions or well-put opinions on things. And I'm for trying something out that some offers up if I can. Have a good rest of your day. Later, QD.

Pictures of the new wheel in the car. I do like this one better because the other had a depth of about 3 1/2" extending out while this one sits pretty much flat against the column. I will be modifying the Grant GT on the horn button to put my original Civic horn pad in its place. Later, QD.
