The Williams Formula 1 team has supplied its hybrid power system to Porsche for use in the next generation 911 GT3-R.

Williams developed the energy storage system for use in Formula 1, but has made the technology available to customers. The team will continue to develop the system at a new research facility in Qatar.

Alex Burns, Williams' chief operating officer, said: "This is a milestone for both Williams Hybrid Power and Williams F1. Together we have worked to bring this technology forward to the point where it can be tested in a racing car and deployed in a road car.

"We hope this will be just the start of the evolution of hybrid systems developed for Formula 1 moving across to applications where they can contribute to cleaner and more powerful vehicles."

The new Porsche will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will contest the Nurburgring 24 Hours in May as part of its test programme throughout 2010.

Don't know if they make em....
But I don't see a RHD working in that car.... Im guessing that's the KERS on the passenger side? Nice placement for balance of the car with driver

I don't know if you remember but before they abandoned it, Williams had the most unique hybrid system in the paddock.
