I'm not too knowledgeable about this but it should definitely get you some gains, especially if you lean it out...as to how much I have no idea. call one of the ia sponsored shops

What intake header and exhaust?

If it's a stock internals ls engine it's not worth it gain are marginal plus a 90 integra would have to be converted to obd1 which is more money too.

You're better off buying a used vafc for $75 and having mainstream touch it up you'll gain some power for little investment

ohh okay thanks....aem short ram intake, type r header, 2.25 pipings...vafc controls fuel and air mostly for vtech correct??? and wit that set up it help me??? and just have them play with the vafc instead of tune?? sorry for some dumb questions...

Hey,
You may not need a vafc to tune your car. If your ecu has an external eprom chip we can tune it for you without a vafc. You will also get the benefit of the ignition timing tuning which you can not get with the vafc. It would actually be cheaper for us to do that for $450 than to buy a vafc, get it installed and then get it tuned. If you want to open your ecu, take a picture and send it to me I can verify that it has the external chip. If it doesnt, its still cheaper to buy an obd0 ecu with an external chip than to go the vafc route.

Vafc is for vtec but since you don't have it it won't control it or you can pick up an safc either ons is fine.

A 90 integra is obd0 all the software for obd0 ecus suck and are outdated. That's why hondata aem Crome etc are only for obd1 ecus. You would spend $150 on a conversion harness, $180 on ecu, $100 on distributor then have to install it all before you ever even got tuned.

IMO an ls engine with your mods it's a waste of money.

Pick up a safc or vafc and just have it touched up , ls engines aren't going to make a ton of power with timing or tuning and your mods.

If you plan on getting cams, better header etc in the future you may want to thunk about going obd1 but I susspect you're just looking for a little power gain.

Oh and

safc/vafc -$75
install and tune $150

way cheaper than $450 or tuning an ob0 ecu @$150 an hour plus the cost of chipping your obd0 ecu

great deal!, go with that.

I think Dan would have a heart attack tuning an obd0 car it really does suck ass

in my opinion, a good tune is 50% of a setup. its my belief that bolting shit on to your car will net very little unless you tune the fuel and timing map for your setup. with that said, simply doing that to a stock engine will net you some pretty good gains depending on how ragged out the engine is.

Just did one a few weeks ago, it wasn't any harder than obd1 without datalogging.

quick question? What about if the ecu doesn't have the external datalogging but is chipped and socketed
