I'm not going to deny but I've been rocking eBay HIDs on my non-projector headlights for awhile now :(. Perhaps I will retrofit them this Spring/Summer when it gets warmer. Knowing that they are blinding w/out projectors I do point them low.
Trucks with HIDs are VERY blinding though!

Agreed. I dont have projectors and have been pricing parts for a retrofit. I keep mine aimed down though....I know still bright but you can not look directly into them when im coming and be just fine. Those trucks like that cant be avoided and I know of several around here with HID headlights and fogs....its fawkin retarded

It should be illegal for trucks to have HID's. Regardless the lights blind you, HIDS just make it 10000000000000000000x worse.
Nice car seat btw.. lol :goodjob:

In the driver's defense, he/she probably doesn't realize how bright they actually are from another cars view. I have silverstars too, but after replacing them I just made sure they worked and called it a day.

I honestly think there's a huge difference between a lowered car with ebay hids (although I'd prefer all people regardless of headlight type (projectors need to be aimed also) to at least take the time to properly aim them) and a jacked up truck that has unaimed reflector lows and fogs. Shoot I got a buddy in a jacked up truck who rides with fogs al lthe time and his halogen are more blinding than most cheap HID's I've seen. I guess they don't ever think because they're jacked up that they need to re-aim their headlights.
What I don't understand (from my biased opinion) is why jacked up trucks can get away with so many illegal or just plain annoying stuff while tuners get harassed.

hmm. i have non retro-fitted headlights with HID bulbs.
is your car lowered? are you lower than the truck? exactly. its not the HIDS, its the fact that they were shining straight into your window. it would have happened with regular headlights.
raise your car up and quit crying.
P.S. i think i know that guy. does he have matching HID fog lights also?

Well my car comes stock with HIDs. When I changed my bulbs to aftermarket bulbs, I had parked that car in one spot and observed where the top of the beam was shining on my garage wall. I installed one side, and I notice a big difference in where the aftermarket beam was aimed compared to the other OEM side.
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2216/20100108150308.jpg
(BTW these are cheap bulbs)
This difference is definitely noticable when my car is parked no more than 2-3 feet away from the wall. Imagine if your car was 50 feet away, the beam is going to be shining right into your eyes, let alone I could probably put a lot of glare onto a lot of the truck drivers and such.
It's not that it's our car is too low (though I gotta admit some people are just rediculously low) but more that the aftermarket bulbs that people buy are aimed differently and then they don't take the 10 mins it takes to aim them and test them out on the roads. I'm trying to say that it definetly would NOT happen with regular stock headlights. I don't think the solution is to raise our cars, but to get the drivers to fix their headlights.
One more thing, as the driver behind the HIDs, you can def tell the difference between HIDs that're aimed too high and HIDs that're aimed properly.
holy smokes, that truck blinded me while i was eating breakfast!

Stock rims & suspension. I dunno about the fogs. If I looked long enough to check, I probably would have had a stroke.

I don't understand why these asshats don't get pulled over more often. Non OEM HIDs in reflector housings is a no-no. On top of just looking horrible, it just is inconsiderate of other drivers. I wish the police would be a little more heavy handed when it comes to this. I am all for modifying your car so long as it doesn't affect other people's ability to safely drive in peace. Driving your vehicle with those retarded blue/purple lights is a safety hazard.

I have been blinded multiple times by this crap. And of course, the cops are too busy pulling you over for your illegal tint (which hurts nobody), and they dont pay attention to all the non-DOT headlights that are actually blinding people. Gotta love it.
