AEM EMS ecu?

My project car is 1994 LS/Vtec with a p28 ecu. I already have a AEM EMS ecu #30-1010 for a 2000 civic. I know the p28 is obd1 and the AEM ecu is obd2 but can i just get OBD1 to OBD2 Conversion Harness to make it work correctly. Or should I get a Hondata s300? The wiring harness will cost about $125 and the Hondata s300 $500. Which would be better? I plan on boosting soon.

I have the AEM on 2 cars. It's a great unit. Plan on putting it on a 3rd one soon.

That said, I know nothing of Hondata. It does seem that there is more support for Hondata in your application.

I would generally suggest that you go with what has the most support for your application.

I think both systems would work fine for your setup. What kind of power are you planning on making? What are you going to do with the car? I do like the mapping a little better in the Hondata and it has every feature you would ever need. Also, you could possibly sell the AEM and get the Hondata and not have to spend any money.

Aem is great but overkill especially since you have to do some things for it to work.

Sell the aem for $700-1000 (eBay, ht etc)

buy s300 $595

use leftover money to tune.

its gonna be his DD and possibly around 300's... but he doesnt want crazy HP just a extra boost :goodjob:.. i told him to sell the AEM too for extra money and get the s300..

s300 is now cheaper than $600. however, for what you're describing chipping the existing p28 and tuning/using crome-gold will work as well and save the cost of the hondata. selling the aem will probably pay for the chipping and tuning and you may still have $ left.

The AEM or the s300 are both good options for your car. I personally would try and stick with the AEM but if you need to free up a little money you may want to switch to the s300. The AEM is a more robust ems for the car but is more expensive. I have the conversion harnesses in stock if you end up keeping the AEM.

this. do it. then let him tune it. he tuned my car twice on crome with a chipped p28.

doubt you remember but it was a red crx, d16z6 with JRSC.
