I'm starting to build a 94 s10 and I'm looking for a good online shop or somewhere to get parts and some advice where to start. I'm not looking to bag it just yet but plan to in the future. Right now just a drop and some shaving and rims.

also, belltech makes the best suspension parts when it comes to dropping your truck, suspension is something you want to go ahead and spend the money on to do the job right. If you do plan on bagging it later, the spindles and control arms will still be used so I would look to try and use those to drop the front and you can get some blocks for the back that wont set you back too much...

What's the average price for a 3 inch drop? And I was told all I need is coils and blocks to drop it but this doesn't seem right to me. I'm new to lowering trucks, I've only been around lifted ones and that's the only truck suspension knowledge I have.

coils and drop spindles will set the front just right....and 3 inch blocks in the rear with 2 leaf springs on each side
You can also bag the front with bolt on cups easy for dimes to lower

they sit higher in the rear about an inch FYI. you can use blocks in the rear without drop shocks but i would make sure they are in good condition. for the front i highly suggest drop shocks with the springs.
reason why its that way is blocks dont drop the truck, it pushing the suspension up in truck.

I thought blocks raised the axle higher off the leafs so that it mounted 2" or whatever size higher in turn bringing the truck down...

blocks will lower the truck, but it will extend the shocks not compress them ( rear only )

Yeah I know but the way it does it is by raising the mounting of the rear axle...

That's what I was told to do and what I will most likely do. The thing that is keeping from doing it right away is the truck sitting uneven. That is something that really bothers me. The truck isn't my DD so I'm not in a rush to get it finished so right now I'm more focused on learning more about what's good and bad with suspension.

I've seen your blazer in the car pics section and that's my goal stance wise. That's the way I want mine to sit.

well that truck was dropped 4 in the front and 4.75-ish in the rear.
look into spindals + springs for the front and blocks for the rear and look up "how to pull a real leaf" on s10forum or google.

Does anyone have a 3/4or 4/5 lowering kit that they would recommend?
A friend showed me this one http://www.gcustoms.com/8203-s10sonoma-drop-lowering-djm232134-p-29689.html
and another friend said just get one from auto zone but I'm not sure about either

DJM and Belltech are the only way to go. Halfass Chinese crap will only cause you headaches down the road. If you do it right, it will also handle and ride well.

I think I'm gonna go with that DJM one. Thanks for all the replies. Repped everyone who has helped.

Did you use a kit or piece it together yourself?
