I still can't believe that one family didn't think of just putting the car in neutral before calling 911 and wth 911 for not thinking the same thing. I am talking about the incident where a family run away vehicle got t boned when they went through the intersection while on the phone with 911

i know right, Neutral, break the fuck of the tranny and just slap it in park, turn the damn thing off, so many ways to stop it but i guess they just sat there and tried to get the pedal unstuck

the really sad part of that is he was a state trooper:(and it was a loaner from a dealership so i dont know why he didnt just shove it in neutral:thinking:

i've heard the 911 call and it will give you the 'willies' if you havent heard it

It makes me never want to call 911 during a emergency and instead just call the dept I need. That 911 operator didnt seem urgent when it came to call

Those were mostly originally made for semi trucks... sometimes trucks have a huge load and the truck can weight so much they heat up their brakes when used improperly, so they tend to lose their brakes and they cant stop. Those are run off ramps just incase this happens, and that picture is probably photoshopped. Trucks usually stay in 3rd gear or so going down those steep highways, and alot of times they will have the airbrakes active to avoid heating up the brakes.

Highways like that have a steep downhill posted on the signs so the drivers know about what speed to drive. That is a 7 1/2 grade so that's a very steep steep downhill, so the drivers would need to drive very slow and cautious w/ a full load.
