So last night, I was driving along, moving along faster than I realized I was going. I see a cop going in the opposite direction, then see him make a Uie and come after, he pulls me over. Long story short, he gives me a ticket for 70 in a 55, and 16% window tint. I'm not going to flame the cop or say "F U Forsyth county PD", because dude was just simply doing his job, and he was real nice to me. I'm just wondering if the 15 over will go on my record or not. The only thing I'm pissed about, is that I had JUST recieved my discount for turning 21 years old, with a clean record. So does anyone think that this one will tarnish my record?

Thank you, Sir. So do you think if I talk to the soliciter, and see if he can knock it down an MPH, and pay the fine, then it won't go on my record?

that sucks buford - i'm sorry!

Thanks, Kristi. I appreciate it. It was my own stupid fault. I was actually going from a 55 down to a 45, but he was nice and just gave the the 55.

That would be the exact route that I would take. Try to get some mph knocked off and ask to see if they will not report it to the DMV. Good luck!

Awesome. Do I need to go up on my court date and speak with that person, or just any day after the ticket is in the system?

Court date will "probably" be your best bet, but you can try to talk to the Clerk's Office in advance. Perhaps you can get the name of the solictor in advance or something.

Insurance wise i think it depends because I know that State Farm has still to look at my speeding ticket...But I guess that depends on the company and how long/how good your record is.

So you are saying that the cop was driving in the opposite direction when he saw you or that he was parked with the gun in the opposite direction?

If he was moving theres no way that'll hold up.

uhh, their onboard radar setups can tag you even while driving. i got tagged when i was 16 the same way and lost my license for it. i asked to see the radar and i don't think it was just a coincidence that it showed the same speed my speedo did.

to answer buford's question... it should be a pretty easy conversation for you to get them to drop it 1mph at least so you don't get points on your record. if you've had a clean record for so long they'll likely just take your money and knock it down.

Nah. That'd be a waste of a no-lo. I'm going to wait untill I do something really stupid to use that.

Yeah, it was my own dumb ass fault for going that fast. It's not like the officer just pulled me over out of spite, and just to pick on me, like most of the other "help me get out of this ticket" posts.

pwnt, if he was in the opposite side, how could he know that you were going 70? you should have claimed 65, since he was being nice, 10 over still will land a fine, but no points right?
