have done V8 swaps (no matter the make) into an RX-8? I have found a few rolling chassis around $5,000 and thought it would be cool to do a swap. I was wondering if any one is GA has had experience in doing this and what the outcomes were.

Yeah, I saw that. It was pretty sweet. It is easily one of my Top 5 favorite cars. I am just a sucker for V8 swaps in anything really. I have seen an LS1 swap recently on a video with 12.xx 1/4 times.

I know R&D could handle it, they built this

It is a Turbo 1UZ in a Toyota p/u with a ton of custom tidbits.

Here is a guy from Iceland who apparently did the swap in 3 weeks with his spare time.

im thinking you could go to any shop that specializes in them v8 engines and they should be able to do it, they put them in miatas and other obd2 cars, after i graduate and get my money right, a 2jz in a rx8 is going to be a must for me, I LOVE the rx8 body, its a coupe yet it's a 4 door, and the 2jz well no need to go into that, the lowest i would go would be a 1jz or an f22c, but like with any unusual swap its going to cost a good grip, it's going to be alot of custom parts and especially wiring,
there was a Red S2000 with an ls1 at that show at mainstream last year, i have no idea who did it but im sure if those people put it into an s2000 they can definetly put it in a rx8, and that price is a bit too high for a shell imo, i found a clean shiento<<<<<(or whatever its calle), its a special version rx8 that was in a flood but it runs perfect for that price, clean 6speed, im still thinking of what i can sell/do to come up with that money before its gone

I would suggest Hinson Supercars for that swap. They've done FDs a lot.

Plus they are doing one right now.

I'd def go with hinsonsupercars.com
Look at the quality in their work, plus they have done many of them. Def doesn't look cheap.

Yeah, I don't expect it to be cheap. Its not something I am looking into doing soon. Just wanted to get some info and all on the swap. Hinson seems to be the way to go to learn some things. Most of the bodys I have found are 5k and with the whole pwertrain just blown engines. Those prices seemed reasonable to me. Are they?
