Ok guys, I am wanting my 240 painted in the next couple weeks, but I'm not sure on which color to go with. I'm not wanting to put a lot of money into the paint since it more than likely going to get messed up. I was informed that there were some guys in TN that may have some helpful advice. So here is the deal, I'm thinking of using the Duplicolor Paint Shop since it's pretty cheap, but is there something better for about the same price. Any help will be greatly appreciated, since I have no clue about paints.

bey bro..best bet for you is get a single stage paint..it'll be cheaper but and still have a good clear finish to it...i can get some pretty good prices on paint..i think my guy had some paint for like 170 a gallon..add some reducer and you'll have plenty enough for the car

when i painted the car in my signature, i used duplicolor.. and of course when i pain cars i always use duplicolor, for one, its a really good paint brand for what you pay and two, ive always loved how it sprays on and what the finished product looks like.

and if you feel like having some expensive paint PPG is an expensive brand.

but where is the thread about the guy doing a cheap painjob on his silvia.. ill look for it.

PPG is a very good paint to use. I have used PPG and duplicolor.

Well the Duplicolor kit comes with the primer, paint, and clear all ready to spray for $30. The car needs to be prepped right. Whoever done this primer job on it did a shitty job and didn't really prep it before they primed it.

Damn that's not bad at all. For the price and ease of doing it I'll prob. just go this route. Thanks for that link and +reps to you sir.

yea. prep work is what makes or breaks a job. are you spraying your car yourself? if your going full out spray job I hope you have a good compressor and gun. it makes a huge difference. and paint depends on what brand and color your using as far as price goes. we use duplicolor at my shop, never had a problem. its kinda pricey but its good stuff.

usually.. if you get somthing close to your original color it will be less work.. you know like door jambs, and under the hood and what not will match or look close to the rest of the body panels.. make sense? lolol

Yeah, but I'm not sure what color the car was. It looks to be gray primer in the bay, and the jams are all black primer like the body. I was planning on redoing all of them whatever color I decide on.

Well I've decided on a color for the 240. After seeing this red coupe, it sold me. IMO it's one of the best color choices I've seen on the coupes.

I would say do a blue pearlescent with green flake. That looks sex! or the infamous BRG (British Racing Green). BRG works on ANY car.

Yeah I slept on the idea of the red and decided against it. I've been looking at different color blues and greens. BRG is one I am looking at for a possiblity.

Tell you what. I'm going to take your sig pic over to my pals on another (GASP) forum. There are some guys who can do wonders with photoshop. Let's see if they can do something for you.

I can't promise it'll be immediate but we'll see.
