The blue ray drive does not work. It powers on everything works fine but the blue ray drive. No money to fix it so i got to sell it.

No, none of the 40g are backwards compatible.

There's a guy in Roswell who can fix these for about $100. He has the drives and can do it in about 30 minutes. He fixed my ps3 when the lens fucked up the day after mw2 came out. If someone is interested in his info they can PM me, he also offers a 30 day warranty. GLWS

Yes. That's total. He fixed my lens for $90. I believe Sony wanted $150 and it was going to take a few weeks.
