I live in rockdale co. Yet I want to register my car in my neighboring newton county to avoid emissions... Is there any trick to registering in a county you don't live in? Or do they just not give a damn up at the registration office?

Anything I need to try or know before trying this?

just fix your damn car! they do give a damn at the registration office when they pull you up on the computer and see you don't live there...the only way would most likely be to show 2 forms of proof of residency in newton

You have to have a residence to be able to register the vehicle in that county. So you can either:

1. Move to a different county
2. Know some1 who lives there and will allow you to have shit mailed there
3. Fix your shit.

so you're telling me that i can just walk up in another counties registration office and switch my car to that county without any proof? If so then why wouldn't everybody do this? i believe you are wrong sir

And for everyone saying FIX it. There's nothing to FIX. Only reason it won't pass it no cat an I'm not cutting my exhaust over that.

Unless all else fails

swap out to a cat that is what i do on the other car. once a year it's swapped. Unless yours is just welded straight through, I would consider making it swappable if your considering keeping the car for a while. On my civic, i even have a spare converter i can swap b/c my high mileage oem pc will not last forever.

really dude...You will go through all that trouble, just because you don't want to temporary put a cat on?
