Not a codmw2 killer.

I picked It up yesterday despite a lack of online reviews and rolled the dice. The gameplay videos looked cool and something about 256 players online intrigued me.

Well it falls very short of expectations IMO.

Good:
huge maps
tons of players

bad:
too hard to kill someone unlike cod it's virtually impossible to kill anyone if they aren't 2 feet away and even after that it's still hard. I thought it was a level issue like I wasn't high enough but even on level 9 I found it extremely frustrating. Sniper shots take 4-5 bullets to kill unless it's a head shot which is impossible unless they are absolutely still.

Objectives are extremely hard to accomplish. The game wants you to focuson teamwork but the problem is everyone is a loner. You get guys camping, going their own way etc despite commanders orders.

Too little xp. You only get 5xp per kill and to level up it takes 400-500xp per level.

Graphics are worse than cod modern warfare 1. They seem rushed they aren't bad by any means but it's pixelated and choppy at best.

Music is horrible

No aiming with grenades you simply just toss them.

Worlds are so huge you end up spending most of your time running when you respawn

All in all I would say a 6/10. It is fun to play for a few matches but the game gets so frustrating you just put it down. The game tried to do too much without focusing on the little things. Or maybe codmw2 is so damn good any other fps is doomed

Yeah man, Shoulda played the online beta first... It was up for dload not too long ago. I installed it and after 10 minutes of gameplay (when I finally got in-game after making it though the godawful menu setup), I pretty much said "DO NOT WANT". Sorry to hear you spent $65 bucks on it. lol

i liked the demo a little...but the maps were soo big.. and there were no vehicles..lol it was ridiculous. Than i found someone and he wouldnt die. Than i had to walk 6 miles to get back in battle.


I like battlefield bad company 2 is gonna be real good! alot smoother than mag..

I hope COD makes a game with that many people and big objectives, however they are probably two series away from that.

IMO, the Battlefield series can't be touched on MMO games like this. I wasted countless hours playing BF1942 when it came out.

I played the demo for one match....almost turned it off before the match was over. terrible game...they did an awesome job making it LOOK good though lol

i used to play A LOT of Delta Force back in the day...what i loved about that game was the squad play and squad matches....i haven't been able to find a game thats come close to something like that...mw2 doesn't even have anything like that...you can basically throw on any tags at any time and all u really do is find random games to join, rather than being able to host ur own or challenge other squads...

I'm glad I read this. My friend was telling about this game and it almost made me wanna buy a PS3. I figured it would be like Battlefield, but way bigger! I never played BF1942, but I played the hell out of BF2 for PC years ago and it was the most fun war game I played until I got COD4. I still think about it, I think I'm gonna get BF1942 now.. MW2 is kinda boring for some reason

i NEVER planned on getting this. after Brandon gave me his synopsis i played it and completely agreed. The controls felt sloppy and everything you said is true. They wanted to kick COD off of its throne but failed.

I usually try games out for the fun of it sometimes you get lucky. Mag failed and so many simple aspects because it was focusing on other stuff IMO

there is just so much stuff that cod does so well it's hard to compete with

wow, i guess i'm the only one who likes this game.
i usually have a 2:1 kill death ratio on games, i find it easy to kill guys from afar sniper rifle or no sniper rifle.
what makes this game fun is if you have a squad that actually communicates.

Lol, I just played BC2 yesterday. That game was pretty fun. It's hard going from COD to that though, aim is the same (I went 5 - 0 before I died) but it's hard to see people. I feel like everything is blurry! But it was fun. Why doesn't MW have game modes like that?

Sorry, but when you have a game called Massive Action Game, it's pretty safe to assume it's gonna be garbage, it tried to blend COD and Battlefield games but from what I've seen it fails miserable.

Battlefield owns all (including COD)

yea i loved Bad company alot, as well as all the battlefields. And Cod has, handicapped my battlefield play with its tunnel basic style of run and gun play. but i do miss the open atmosphere ofbattlefield

But i guess we can chalk MAG up as another pS3 failure, next to SOCOM...:D

No sh!t I mean I played Socom 3 on Ps2 which is an awesome game. Go to PS3 and try it out and im like :wtf:. They should of stuck to the Socom 3 platform and stick in better graphics.

BF 1942 and BF 2 were freaking awesome, played every free minute i had with that game until 2142 came out. Played it, hated it cuz it was just to easy to kill/be killed. So i moved onto COD. I thought about getting MAG but after i hear all of you guys lol. Now when i found out COD MW2 wasn't going to have dedicated servers, i knew BFBC2 would eat that up. I played the beta thought it wasn't that great. It wasn't bad, but still nothing like battlefield 2. I thought either the hitboxes were way off(like bf2 for a while), or the guns were just not powerful enough for the amount of health. I was, say 3-5 feet game style in front of a sniper not even paying attention. The medic has a light machine gun to start with, to say the least the sniper notice after about 5 seconds of taking damage and whipped out his pistol and took me down.

they fucked up 3 by making huge maps and adding vehicle. i mean come the fuck on, its socom not COD. you dont add vehicles or huge maps to a game that getting in firefights was as sparse as socom was.

i mean i loved socom and would pwn anyone at it, but i wish zipper had made confrontation because it would have been epic. hopefully they will go back to the socom franchise now, but im not getting my hopes up. if they did it could save the ps3 online just like the original socoms did for the ps2
