View Full Version : Anyone know about Two-stroke engines?

I was trying to start my 2stroke pocket bike and the pull cord was completely stuck and few days before i ran straight gas in it. do i need need a rebuild? how would i go about solving this?

is the motor turning?

Pull the plug and put a squirt of oil down in the cylinder. Put the plug back in, and try to push start it. I can't speak for you scooters motor, but I did about 50 laps at Tally (at 110MPH on a 100 degree day) on my KTM 2 stroke before I realized I didn't add oil to the tank on the way out.

sounds like an oil/fuel ratio screw up somewhere... might need to tear it down and look at the pistons just to check...

yeah i was running 100% GAS not even a ratio of oil so i guess thats why its stuck but ill try to squirt oil and if that does nothing i guess ill have to take it apart and see the internals thanks for the advice

Its kinda easy... new ring, hone cylinder, usual engine rebuild stuff.

I used to play with building/rebuilding these little motors back before i got into cars. Built a 36cc scooter and had it walking circles around a 50cc pocketbike that some kid had who lived up the street from me. :D

If you want some more info...i would check out Gopednation.com, its kinda like the H-T for small 2stroke/4stroke engines/pocketbikes/scooters n' whatnot.
