I-285 Ride?

I dunno if anyone has thought of this...but how about once a year...maybe in the warmer months of the year, do a I-285 ride?

Like cruise the ring...on a low traffic day....avoiding rush hour.

We can all meet up at one place and cruise to our next destination, no too far off the ring.

Any input/ideas/suggestions would be nice.

Why QD? We wouldn't have to run the entire thing....just part of it. I think it would be a good way to show off some rides and get people together on a larger scale....maybe even get the event sponsored.

Then you get people trying to race and shit. Causing all sorts of trouble. Some people can't control themselves. It could be fun, but you can't trust a whole crowd of car enthusiast to behave.

sounds bad to me though. too much lane switching will be going on. people will want to keep up and might cause a wreck. the highway is different than a mountain cruise and what not.

i agree sounds like a good idea. but then u will get a handful of ppl that is going to wanna race. then ppl are going to be driving crazy and could cause an accident. but none the less sounds like a cool idea. its nothing like a good cruise with a decent amount of cars.

I do not see why ppl are bitching about the possibility of ppl acting dumb. If some of the ppl in the cruise started racing or being dumb it would make for good entertainment...I would not be one of those ppl but it's just like why I would go to the riverside meets. Seeing stupid ppl do stupid things in stupid cars is great entertainment! If some ppl act dumb, so be it, it won't affect the ones of us that are driving normal. If they get a ticket or jailed, who cares?

yeah. from the hwy 10 to I75 its 20+ miles. and its very heavily covered by the 5.0. its ok for clubs and some random meets sure. but not a full site function. because thats just eh!

^agreed. im still down with tryin this out. when i use to live in nj ppl use ot do this all the time. travel from the begining of the parkway all the way to atlantic city. and it was meet points at every rest stop where more ppl would tag along. it was pretty fun and cool. it was a cruise for breast cancer though. ill see if i can dig up the pics on when i get home. it was a few ppl that got pulled over for doing stupid stuff but not everybody.

i think its not such a good idea b/c to many distractions on a hwy such as 285 to be doing pics,no matter your speed, along with a bunch people in a crew to add to the distraction of drivng...just my opinion though as i think its going to take place and soon...

So far it seems like a good number of people are down with it, just as long as they know what they are getting into...we just have to map some stops/meeting places along the way.

I highly suggest this, If you want to do this, definitely bring a friend with you to take all of your pics/videos for you. We don't need anyone getting hurt trying to multitask.

Also, if anyone can think of a cause(I'm thinking Haiti) or any other reason, let me know. I just don't want to ride 'The Ring' for nothing....lol
