B16 Tranny Problems.PLEASE HELP!

Ok so i thought third gear was out of my tranny,before it wouldn't take gear and it would pop out even if you put t in third and then started the car up.i done a complete tear down today and found nothing.The gear was good,synchro was good,i mean everything was fine..so i put it back together and it still wont take third gear.For some reason it feels like my shifter is not engaging the gear enough because if you hold the shifter and easily let off the clutch a tad bit it will pull,but as soon as you let off the clutch more it kicks out.PLEASE someone help me out with some info ha.

sounds like the shift fork is outa wack....

dammmnn..that means tearing it all back down huh.i didn't even think to look at a shift fork.

so i took it all apart and put in a new shift fork and everything was still good...still will not go into third gear.what could be the problem?it will go all the way into third fine but once the shifter is hooked up it acts like it wont go in to third all the way..

Then maybe it's your shifter.

i took the linkage loose from the shifter,pulled the tranny in third gear using the linkage coming from the tranny and with the car jacked up and it still would not stay in third..?

call a tranny shop and ask them what they think bump

I had the same problem, but with second gear. It turned out to be my shifter tuning forks. Had a warranty on the car, and got a new trans!
