Seriously and no offense to anyone but you have to have no balls or completely stupid to buy an Altima, Accord, Solara, G6, Civic SI coupe over this thing. Yeah the interior isn't great but its not horrid. Its RWD, with a gotdamn optional LSD and Brembos. You can get a track edition for 23k. A nice big V-6 or I-4 you can tune. Did I mention it looks fucking tits.

This car should be in everyone's fucking driveway if you want an Import. I completely understand wanting a Domestic Mustang, Camaro etc over it. Apples to ORanges.

I would LOVE to come to the Varsity or some meet and see these things out in droves.

I love the first one very clean and tasteful, not over done and no parts that arent needed on the exterior. No "i love my 2.0" or "KDM" stickers or tacky sh*t on it. The 2nd on was nice until he put that carbon fiber hood and wing on it but im sure the ricers boys will love it

These are one of the sexiest cars out there right now. I like how people asked what was so special about them, but never ask the same to the millions of Civics on here that all look the same. You always get" Looks good man, nice and clean". These things deserve some love too damn it

The G37 is a NIssan Skyline if u didn't know.....It is clear Hyundai took the cues from it but hell the Altima coupe looks like a G35/37.

Where the G37 is feminine the Genesis is more masculine and interesting. Both are good looking cars.

Well, suspension + wheels is going to come first. That's probably all I'm doing to the appearance, other than tint and a possible front lip & CF rear diffuser. After that, I guess I'll move to bolt-ons (I/H/E) and an ECU reflash... and an HKS ssq somewhere along the way. As soon as I find the time, one of the first things I'm gonna do is take these headlights apart and paint the housings matte black. The silver/chrome is terrible.

Dead serious. Not to turn this into a pissing contest (again both look great) but where the G37 has flowing headlights, a bland side and cut off rump, the Genesis has detailing, detailing, detailing. The odd window drop adds to tension into the design. The rear is much more aggressive.

FYI the Genesis coupe beat the G37 coupe in a comparison in Road and Track.

I'm still amazed how the G35 Concept Coupe was just nearly perfect and when the production car came out, the small changes they made totally made it look very blah. The G35 looks much more aggresive.

Its clear the G35/37 offered inspiration for the Genesis coupe. Here are two pics of them together and you can see similarities and differences.

I can't believe I really prefer the looks of the Hyundai, seems more aggresive than the more feminine looking G37.

Both are good looking though.

I couldn't agree more. I think the G obviously has a more upscale look to it, as it should; the base G is competing with the top-of-the-line Genesis. The detail in the Hyundai, however, sets it apart.

I agree!The only thing i wished they would've done is made the Genesis coupe the replacement for the Tiburon(just call it a Tiburon), and come out with a more upscaled coupe to match the Genesis sedan.

Hyundai is going in a different direction. Tiburons 04+ are great cars (I owned one, and loved it), but Hyundai is clearly stepping up their game and I think giving the Genesis the same name as an older model would've kept them in the past.

I don't think so, so who's gonna by the Tiburon now when you got the Genesis coupe sitting directly across from it for a few thousands more? It's not like Hyundai made a offshoots of themselves like Toyota,Honda,Nissan with the Lexus,Acura and Infiniti brands and dealerships.

Raybuck and Bkgen ya'll missed the point I was making. The Genesis coupe could've be called the Tiburon and the Genesis coupe woud've matched the sedan like the old Acura Legend coupe. Well if they discontinued the tibby then ok , but who would pay 35k for a Hyundai ? You would cause you brought a Genesis coupe which is still a Hyundai. Then you said it makes no sense to make a high end coupe? Why did the make the Genesis,Equus sedans because they're ready to enter the higher end markets at a cheaper price. What they did with the Gen coupe is take a page out of Acura book in 86 with the launch of the Legend sedan and the Integra at the same time. Upscale sedan and sporty econbox. The Equus is sweet, look out BMW,Audi,Lexus and Mercedes. The only thing i don't like in the wheels, they look like the Genesis sedan wheels.

Some very nice Genesis coupes in this thread. I think the OPs posted pictures of the red w/carbon fiber pieces is not the best, but I don't care much for carbon fiber to start.

As for too much emphasis on the wheels? Isn't that all most cars have anyway? Wheels, possible drop, and a lip of some sort? I see nothing wrong with leaving it there. Not everyone wants to have some sort of ultra modified and completely un-drivable show car.

Raybuck and Bkgen ya'll missed the point I was making. The Genesis coupe could've be called the Tiburon and the Genesis coupe woud've matched the sedan like the old Acura Legend coupe.

I understood what you meant when you said that. But The thing is they wanted to get rid of that low entry level coupe for a reason.

Well if they discontinued the tibby then ok , but who would pay 35k for a Hyundai ? You would cause you brought a Genesis coupe which is still a Hyundai. Then you said it makes no sense to make a high end coupe? Why did the make the Genesis,Equus sedans because they're ready to enter the higher end markets at a cheaper price.

There is NO WAY in hell I'd buy a Hyundai that cost over $33k. I love the Genesis sedan and equus, but I couldn't spend that much on a Hyundai. I wouldn't even buy the 3.8 Track Genesis. For that money I'd buy a G37, or for a little more a 135i.

I bought the Genesis because it had all the things I was looking for: It had to be brand new, under 26k, manual, rwd, 4+ seats, and have great aftermarket potential. Give me another car that fits those qualifications?
