I somehow convinced my wife to let me pick this up...

1970 Datsun 521 pickup. It's in great shape. I saw it a few years ago and asked about it and finally the owner put it up for sale and I had to jump on it.

you could try to find an earlier model ford and swap parts over....didn't the last of the couriers have discs??

Nice truck man! I have seen the ad and loved it. if you want to do disc brakes there is a bracket made by a guy called Beebani that posts on www.ratsun.net
you can buy them on ebay. Go to ratsun and do a search if you want reviews. A lot of 620/521 guys from there have used them. It uses hardbody callipers and honda passport disc. Here is a link. I'd love a set for my truck but i also have a car problem.......

Glides !!!! You know I called and tried to make it happen when yours first came up and the guy was trying to help the old lady sell it...But at the time I couldn't come up with the scratch.

I can't wait to show you guys how clean it is in the daylight. I'm really excited about it. I'm actually going to trailer it down to Daytona since I'll be down there for almost 2 weeks during SPEEDWeeks, so if any NASCAR fans are going down, you'll see me cruising in it.

So would garage Zero be able to help me do the brakes if I got all the parts I needed ?

Brakes will be pretty straight forward if you get all the parts. Look up Beebani on ratsun.net he will sell you the brackets, washers and stuff and then get the calipers from the junkyard, and rotors from an auto parts store. The only thing that may be of question, is do you upgrade the master cylinder? Either way, sweet ride again and I am sure John is more than capable.

Well Damn thats a bad ass truck!!!!! I have worked on a few of the 521,s and 621,s. The front spindle set up is a little off from everyone else, so it makes it a little hard to switch to a different set up(Altima Charlies crown uses 91 toyota supra spindles). But I have seen the ratsun kit, It will get the job done. And switching to a 7/8 bore master cyl is no big deal either. Let me know if we can help you at all.

these are really cool trucks....my roomate has one that takes a quart to the gallon but it still fucking runs like a champ....we just use all the old oil change oil in it since it eats it so fast LOL....

My 83 civic wagon is at the paint shop for a little while...then it's taking a trip to Mainstream for a little update. I was going to have Batlground make it stupid fast and crazy swapped, but I'm just too busy to wrap my head around it and I want to drive it asap, so for now, just a nice little update.

Oh ! I never ended up trading my Bricklin for it...I'll always want one, but for now, I've got more crap than I know what to do with.

Today I drove my Tundra, the Datsun, started the 96 Integra and moved it in the driveway, started the Bricklin and moved it, and couldn't get the Plymouth to crank :)

That's 5 in one day. I need to move some of these bad boys...

I do have some good news...I got most of my brake kit in the mail and I think I'm making my first ever trip to Garage Zero to have them installed.

I still need a 240Z Master cylinder and a proportioning valve, plus I think I need the rotors and the pads...otherwise, I should be good to go.

Went by and checked on the 83 Civic wagon and it's going to be bad ass ! Tons of metal work being done to the car that I didn't know it needed. I'll try to load some of the pics up at some point and make you guys proud.

I'll be honest, Johns pretty damm good with the drums. Mine stop on a dime.

My Bug has a disc conversion and my truck stops just as well.
