I'm seriously thinking about getting out of the Honda game, and going for a Jeep or something 4x4. I'm not getting any younger. And I feel a bit stupid in a Civic....

thats why I sold my last hatch, once I drove it with no interior and no A/C it had to go....

If your getting out of the car scene i'd go with a truck. At least that is what I would do.

I'm eventually going to get a 4x4 truck as well. I had a truck a few years back and loved it. Wish I still had it. :goodjob:

a 4x4 lifted truck (or jeep) is comfy and fun. just dont be a hick when driving it, and dont ride on ppls asses' like most ego building truck drivers.

Leave it dude, if thats what you are thinking. You obviously dont have a passion for them anymore. I havent regretted that I got out of it. They can be fun yes, but they just arent enough.

yeah i was in the honda game for a long time and got worried about being jacked....so i threw all my motor parts in the closet and got a infiniti G20.....its not really all that fast but it has enough power to be content......has alot of swaps i can do to it.....VQ,sr20det,VE motor.....or i can always turbo my DE motor in the car......i went a step farther and even got a AT car to keep the speeding tickets away(but that didnt really work LOL) i may 6 speed swap it anyways......

the G20 looks better than alot of hondas......im not gonna hate though cause i really like hondas.....but the G has a cool look to it....

Only bc it is affordable, easy, and parts fit like legos. You gotta pay to play with a nice upgrade from a Honda. Everything has been done with Honda's. Nothing new has yet to come along.

i get compliments everywhere i go pretty much on my G20. no one has ever seen one modded like mine.....i get people that are car guys that have never heard of it.....

the first time i really noticed the G20 was in superstreet they had a white one with a DET for the street car challenge....i kept looking at them online and eventually was forced to either spend lots of money on my integra or get another car....

i was originally looking for a sc300 but couldnt find any clean ones for my price range.

then i remembered the G20 and found one i really liked that was clean. im a car guy so i couldnt leave it stock LOL

but now ive done pretty much all i want to do with the car....won the national ser convention with it......got G20.net MOTM this month.....not really a whole lot else to do LOL

If its mostly age ( and perception of what it looks like ) driving you to get out of Honda's simply step up to a later model Acura or something that would "typically" be considered more mature. ( A nice TL, tucking 19s? ) Every now and then I get the same feeling but I do a good job of iginoring it. I have young friends and my minitruck addiction means I will prolly never seem to act my age anyway and minitrucks......... Im not giving them up! lol

I enjoyed the Honda game for a while, but eventually I needed better graphics.

i got out of hondas but not because i was too old or anything...i had a basically stock gsr motor running low 12's in my daily driver....i had cloth integra seats, no a/c (top mount peakboost manifold wont allow it :( ), and manual roll up windows. then i dropped a ton of money into a built motor, sfwd fuel set-up, built trans, slicks, cage, you name it...i had it...and i realized its still a honda...sure it was fun and fast and all that but it was still lacking something.

one night on the way home from work i saw a 2004 mach 1 mustang at a car lot..i stopped and looked at that thing for a couple days in a row and eventually stoped in and traded my 2006 nissan frontier for it. i am the happiest i have ever been with a car. i have power everything, leather seats, cold ass a/c, hot ass heat, power seats, nice radio....sure its not as fast as the honda...close though;)..but i cant even tell you how many times i get compliments on the car. i had always wanted a mustang or a vette even before i got into hondas and im glad i was able to do the honda thing for a while but sooner or later its time to move on to what you really want. i would still get a honda again for a beater or maybe to run low 13's or high 12's for really cheap...but man im telling you...get what you really want and you will be having a blast.

Sometimes I feel like I want to get out of the car game completely, but I know I will miss some type of speed and I can NEVER drive anything stock. I have lost interest in my charger the last few months. I started as a 4x4 guy, so think my plan is to get a '99-'04 Jeep Grand Cherokee and throw it on 35s as a DD. You can find them for decent prices now, and especially in the summer when a 4x4 SUV is not in as much demand. Also think I am tired of having to worry about potholes/curbs/ascents/descents every day of the week. I will retire the charger as a weekend warrior. That way when I do drive it on rare occassions, I will appreciate it more. Or that could all be bullshit and I just want another project to work on.

This is kind of the look I am going for

U wont feel stupid driving an Accord or a New Civic. I dont care how old I get, I will continue to own a small economy car for simple errands or somewhat lengthy trips. It only makes sense.

I don't need an Economy car, I live 4 miles from work and never go on trips. If I had an accord I would just wish it was a civic, so I could build it. If I had a new civic, it would come with payments and I wouldn't be happy with it stock. Don't get me wrong, I love the little buggers, It's just time to move on...

Personally I wish that every1 who doesn't have a passion for ANYTHING (not just cars, but music, fashion, you name it) would get out of it. The people that aren't really passionate about it really is what makes the scene feel like something "negative" to me. Those people are the ones that contaminate the movement and have 200,000 posts on forums but aren't bringing anything of substance to it.

Also - there is nothing wrong w/ having your "favorites" - but if some1 only like specific brands and doesn't move around and try their hand at learning to build diff manufacturers or learn to admire different sectors of automotive culture really urk me.

I'm not a "Honda guy" - I am an automotive enthusiast. That's where I win when other people lose. Embrace it all. I am this way about music - women - cars - LIFE in general. I had fast Hondas when it wasn't even known that they could be. I've had time to get out of cars altogether for a few years and them come back. I can build a car knowing what I know NOW vs building them with what I THOUGHT I knew then and that keeps it fresh for me.

Good luck in moving on to other things - there are lots of places to spend time/money than the automotive subculture. Enjoy!!
