Southeast Drag Day 2010

WHEN: Sunday, March 7, 2010

WHERE: Silverdollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA

TIME: Gates open @ 10am and racing begins @ 11am. Quick 8 Eliminations will begin approximatly @ 1pm. Racing will end between 4pm and 5pm depending on racers & the track.

TECH CARDS: Tech cards cost $15 if you pre-register. PRE-REGISTRATION ENDS MARCH 5th! Tech cards will go up in price @ the track to $20. So, register early, save your spot, and save yourself some money!!!

GATE FEE: Silverdollar charges a fee of $10/person to get in their gate. This is not related to your tech card price. This includes all spectators as well as racers.

We define our event as:
a gathering of many enthusiasts and street legal racers who caravan out to Reynolds, GA to tune, grudge match, and compete against others, with prizes being awarded to the top places in the Quick 8 elimination.

It wasn't all that bad last year. What screwed it up was the fact that we had to reschedule it three times. I ended up leaving by 1:00 pm. Right after I left I guess more people started showing up.

Thats only for the "Quick 8". The rest of the day is just basically a test and tune wih some grudge matches thrown in as well. Hell last year they had an top fuel dragster there.

The $15 covers the whole day for ALL driving. You're not required to pay more for the Quick 8, it's included in the $15 tech card price. Basically the track opens at 10, racing starts at 11. At some point in the morning they are going to close two staging lanes to Quick 8 qualifying. Everyone will still be allowed to run in the other lanes. The fastest people move on to the actual quick 8 round later in the day. The only time you will not be able to race is during the Quick 8 final rounds. Last year there were only a very small handful of cars Vying for the quick 8. Hell I believe there wasn't more than maybe 15 cars total for the whole day at best.

Sedd is really a very small group of people. Last year I bet we didn't have but 60 cars the whole day. The year before that there were maybe 100 cars. One guy in a Lexus ran 40 times from what I was told. You can't get a better day at the track for the price. I ran 10 times last year before 1 pm. The only reason I didn't run more was for one my clutch was getting hot/slipping and I had to let it cool down between runs, and the other was the last 5 runs were within .5 seconds of each other and the trap MPH was the exact same. Only the 60ft was changing. I decided to put the car up before I broke it and had to have it towed home.


Don't forget though that you will still be required to pay the $10 entrance fee if you race or spectate at the gate to get in. So it comes out to $25 total for the day if you race and pre-register. $10 if you just want to spectate. I do believe the Tech card price goes up to $25 if you don't pre-register though.

I'll keep an eye out for you as I'm leaving Newnan around 8. Try not to run my ass over! I'll be the guy everyone is stuck behind on the two lane roads. I'm pulling the Mustang on a two wheeled dolly with the Ranger.

The only goals I have is really high 11's to low 12's and Not to break anything!

It looked like you were having fun though! I saw you guys pass me right before we got to the track. It was a long ass ride there and back pulling the shitbox with the ranger. Not exactly the worlds greatest tow pig, but at least it got it done.


Cty was saying the plans for the next one will be to have it on a regular test and tune night. Which will blow, but seeing all of the money that she's lost on this event over the last few years, who can blame her?

They did, but doing well 1 year outta 4 is not so good. And I know she wants it to be perect and everyone to have a good time, but she puts lots of stress on herself to put on this kickass event.

Racing from 11am-4pm is 5 hours for those of you who are math challenged. 5hrs of drag racing is a pretty long time. If you got there at 1pm you could have gotten 20 runs in between 1-4 EASY.

I got in 12 runs from 11am till 2 and still had loads of time to enjoy otherwise. I bet I could have gotten 50 in because you could just pull up. There was really no waiting at the lanes.

About 10 am. I was the first guy down Lane #1. Started racing at 11, and had the car back on the trailer at 11:05! Blew the trans and still ran a 15 @ 96.
