okay, these are a few pictures i have taken with my new olympus sp-565uz.... the camera it self is not what i was expecting but i figure with some good photoshop skills the pictures good take a step up in quality. The only thing is i have no idea how to use photoshop, right now im using the picasa program that came on my computer. Was just wondering if anybody can sharpen the photos and make them better then explain what you did, anyway reps to whoever can help and thanks.

fail thread is fail.
but i encourage you to try again. the best answer to this thread is just be realistic with your equipment. these pictures are bad. the last 2 are like REALLY bad. but that's mostly due to the fact that they were all really hard shots to obtain. for the woodpecker shot to turn you you'd need a REALLY good zoom or a camera that had enough mega-pixels that you could crop zoom close enough. you seem to have neither so don't get down on yourself, you're just overshooting your equip.

Yeah the camera was a gift from my aunt because i had mentioned getting into photography as a new hobby. I do not know much at all about it but the camera itself is trash, not the one i wanted but as free equipment im not going to complain. you can change the lens but i dont even know if i want to invest for a lens for this specific camera because i probably will upgrade soon. as far as photoshop i guess i will get a program from best buy and sit through the tutorial and learn the old fashioned way...

The problem is that you missed focus on all of those shots. No amount of photoshopping will fix the focus on a picture where the camera focused on the wrong object. With any camera.
Unless you have a camera that lets you choose what to focus on, its a crap shoot when you have stuff in the foreground (like snow) between the camera and intended subject of the photo

how about he learns how to use what he's got. no sense stepping up to a better camera if he can't master what he owns already.
