Me and my gf are looking to buy a toyota 4runner and have found one she really likes. Is there anything I should lookout for when buying a older car. Also the guy told me that it has a Jasper motor and trans with about 40k on it? Is that a good replacement motor and trans? If ur able to help me out that would be great thanks.

First off you should look at mine it's for sale on here lol. The second gen your looking at should have the 3.0 3vze. It's kinda low on power for the vehicle its in but does its job. Things to look for a the steering end link recall and the head gasket recall. Other than that these are among the best built vehicles you can buy. I don't know what you mean by a Jasper engine though. Look at yotatech.com they have covered every single aspect of these vehicle you can encounter.

From what I could understand is that Jasper is a company that work with reman motors. So I didn't know if that's a good company for reman motors. But I'll havebto look into the steering link end andhead gasket recalls. But with that said if has a different motor in it that voids the head gasket recall. Thanks

If its the 3.0 V6 4Runner, its junk. Look for a newer model.
