The "IRS" called me saying I am being entered to win in a sweepstakes.

Winner gets 25k or something I stopped listening and all I had to do was fill out a short survey.

I told her I can't talk and hung up. Call was from a Restricted number I couldn't trace it back.

Anyone else gotten this call? lol

That seems perfectly legit. Why would the IRS not be involved in sweepstakes?

If you would have listened further, they would have told you to check your mail for a check for $27,000 made payable by their head of operations in Kenya and for you to deposit the check in the mail and send back $2,000 to the return address on the back of the envelope. Later, QD.

They have called 3 more times.

"Hello?"
"Simon?"
"No, who's that?"
"Well maybe you can help me, you've been entered to win a dream vacation because our records indicate you have a VISA, Mastercard, or any credit card. Is this true?"
"No, I'm a police officer."

CLICK.

when you verify your information (that they already have), you get a charge on your telephone bill. usually 19.95. it is a scam, and the phone companies are in on it. im sure its illegal, but since the government is run by the fucking mob anyways, who the fuck cares right?

I've had calls similar to this before and have never been charged. What the hell are you talking about? :lmfao:
