I've got a Colt I want smoothed out and setup for carry. I would also like the barrel crowned and a few other details. I kind of dig the finish you have on the one you just posted so something along those lines.

btw danny, does that finger groove get in the way of the mag release button? bc in the pic, it looks as if it will lead your thumb right over the mag release button.

the thumb ramp leads your thumb right to the mag catch. makes it a little easier to access. doesnt effect shoting becuase your thumbs are way higher than the ramp while shooting. Only when you do a mag change and drop your thumb to hit the catch does the ramp come into play.

cool. just seen some people use their thumbs around that area especially on the glock stock grooves when shooting. some like to upgrade their mag release to an extended one (dont really know why) and once they shoot, it pushes the eject button. lol

I run thumbs high and forward where they are actually along the slide. some other run the thumbs down and under each other (putting them in the mag release area), not as good IMO. So i shouldnt have any issues with these grips, but have yet to run them hard. So i will report back if i find them troublesome. But the weapon still has to be rotated in the hand to hit the mag release, so i dont expect any problems.

thats neat. get a bunch of those swatches. i wanna do something crazy with my next build... i went and picked up that cracked frame today. i will try and get it out to you this weekend or next week so you can practice bobtail it. I am going to swing by the guy i use for my machine work and see if he can weld it and recut the frame to repair it. we shall see. its not that bad.
