I have a weird whining noise coming from my 95 ex coupe
it starts at about 2000 rpm and gets really loud at 7000
then decelerating, it gets softer again.

another problem I have is a rattling noise at idle
its really loud and then when i move the stick between 5th and reverse it stops, then I let it go back to middle and it starts up again.
pushin the clutch in stops it for a second or two then it starts back up.. again.

any help is appreciated :goodjob:

way to broad of a question. there can be lots of things making those noises.

the 2nd sound like the shifter it hitting the exaust

the 1st one might be the tentioner for the timing belt but like stated above that a broad question.

by the whole pushing in the clutch and the noise goes away, throws a flywheel bolt is loose in my mind :D

but then again if a bolt was loose, it would be pretty hard to shift

okay well the whining noise is coming from the timing belt.
and its hard to get into 1st and 2nd every now and then.
if that helps any.. to give a little more info
idk how to really explain noises..

i'll stick with my answer on the 1st one.

the 2nd could be the shifter hitting the exaust "if its a short throw" if not then i would go to the trans.
