new from FL

Sup everybody. I was googling "GA statue 40-6-181" and by the 5 page I saw an old thread on this site. I take it some of ya'll might be familiar with those numbers. I own some land in central GA and sure enough GSP were in full force today... ended up with a 92 in a 55 :eek:... 37 over. I was in the middle of BFE turner county too. I drive an 2006 F-250 6.0L (hope ya'll allow trucks here) its pretty quick though :D

So here I am, can any of you relate... how fucked am I? :doh:

I have 45 days to call and get a court date.

Flawless as far as I know. I've gotten out of a few tickets in FL but did get written one which i did traffic school for. The GSP deputy dipshit was less than helpful and did not give a rats ass about anything i had to say. I bet it had something to do with the big FL Gators sticker on my back window.

The only things I might have going for me in court are some technical errors by him on the citation. He put the court date as Oct. 3, 2009 then scribbled it out with a pen and circled a number to call within 45 days. I have a drivers license in FL but he recorded my driver license as in GA.

Not to mention GA just enacted a law Jan 1st 2010 that basically states if you're going XXmph over the speed limit (it's real low, like under 10mph or something), they will add $200 to the fine.

If you're under 21 and get caught for that, you lose your license for a pretty good while. Lol.

the first part of this is incorrect. the law is, if you're caught and convicted of a speed of 75+ on a 2 lane or 85+ anywhere in ga, $200 will be added to the fine. its nothing but a revenue maker, but 85 is PLENTY fast. keep it under 10 over the speed limit and you'll be fine.

being over 21, you wont lose your license, but be prepared for a pretty hefty fine and probably 5-6 points on your license. sucks you got popped! slow that behemoth down! lol

My ticket was $650 after a $50 D.A. fee. Considering your record it will be most likely in the 800's at least.
