have you looked at a lot of all motor d graphs? not really big power. Like bolt on gsr power on a fully built one.
cprtyler
01-03-2010, 07:11 PM
i know its not a gsr but like punkr6 said it will b fun iv seen all kind of numbers and graphs on d's anywhere from 130-230 na'd i just want to build a d before i sell the b's and d to go hseries you know i know some stuff is pricy thats fine, i know numbers may be more or less but its just for fun i was dared to build it on my specs to c what i could get and we have alil cash on it so mainly for fun ya know, who knows might get a crx and drag it if the comp. and numbers sre good for ME. throw me numbers u woukd expect to c

crank micro polished to 10k
y8 head

crower valve train

obx 60mm tb( STOCK IS GOOD DONT WASTE UR MONEY)
hondata tb/im gasket
bisi or tri y header( bISI IS THE SHIT JUST SAYIN)
skunk2 fuel rail and fpr( STOCK FUEL RAIL IS GOOD FOR UP TO 400HP NO NEED FOR BIGGER ONE)
msd dizzy( DONT NEED tHIS EITHER)
nology wires
pulse star plugs
light weight pullys( YOU MUST PLAN ON CHANGING YOUR BEARINGS SOON)
93 del sol tranny
with light weight flywheel
stage 2/3 clutch

the motor is going to be completely redone me and a buddy of mine are rebuilding it (he himself has a turbod d thats close to 350) everything going to be vated, and everything. allmotorx what else u suggest as power adders

Well, I've seen a few d series builds & heard of a few d series builds that can run from 170hp to about 240hp for a total cost of $1500.... It's a long shot in most builders minds that a d series can't lay this much power down as a na build but like I said I have seen it done & read from other forums, so it's defiantley not a wast of time, but I'm sure according to other builders (which names won't be said) from this forum it would be.... I say go for it because I'm going to build mine basically the same way but the only difference is I will be boosted & shooting for around 360hp as close as I can to 300 ft lb torque but the trq is a long shot....
Reps for (cprtyler) on finally coming around to wanting to play with a d series....

Aggressive cam with good amount of compression, also you could go with a dc sport header if you dont want to wait 2weeks for bisi header or if money is an issue and just modify the collector on it and the basic bolt ons could put you anywhere from 135-160whp with a good tune

I had an all motor D once, my first build I did. All the good stuff. HATED it for the money, but everyone has to learn. Or maybe budgets are set, money is tight, if so then disregard my other statements. turbo that shit, I've built turbo engine's for people as well, that would be the ONLY D i would have ever again.

240 hp please, even crank that is pushing it.
If it's done right & the budget can expand, nothing is impossible.... I say just shoot for 200hp.... There's alot of other forums like civic-eg.com that have alot of na'd & boosted builds.... The highest amount of hp for a boosted d series that I've seen & perform was I believe 416hp.... But there are other boosted d series with way more power, just saying it what I've seen.... So like I said to go na and want to shoot for 200hp isn't a long shot at all.... It just depends on your budget & what items you choose to run with....
But everyone has their agreements & disagreements about it.... I say run for 200hp just because it would be an insane build & blow alot of Honda owners minds when you could possibly run a low 12 in 1/4 mile pass on a d series build with street tires, maybe lower if you run with drag radials.....

i have a budget yes may go over alil lol i m building a boosted lsv i just wanna try and c what kind of power i can get 190 or so would be great not going to b dd but for fun on weekends at track im looking for best cam to suit my clearances on the p29 pistons

sorry lol 2 layer headgaskt and 40 over
Starrfire
01-05-2010, 08:11 PM
Eh the taking out of the middle layer of metal would be a little too much trouble, and .40 over may be a little much, but it may be safe.
cprtyler
01-05-2010, 08:42 PM
so u suggest oem headgasket, ok. what do u think about itbs for a all race application cuz thats what i think im planning on doing strictly drag

big money for little power, just do a good intake manifold.
cprtyler
01-05-2010, 09:40 PM
^^^^^ok check intake mani, i checked out that web site what feet did u put for atmosphere, whats a good valve train to prevent valve float at high rpms i want to spin at least 8500 or alil more. (im not asking u to look up parts i just know u said u built one pretty sure u know)

why not just buy the KMS valvetrain package locally here in ATL and save yourself some money? That will be fine for what you're trying to do as far as preventing valve float at high RPMs.
Since your project engine has turned away from being a daily driver, why not look into getting a camshaft from Isky? Definitely a top notch company. :goodjob:

iv just heard of too many breaking (sorry allmotorx) hes just one of dozensbisi makes great stuff well webcam actually, but im a lil discouraged from buying from them again since i didnt get to use the one i bought. .40 isnt to much at all anything over that im not to sure about, but im running a 76mm bore with pg6 pistons i was going with p29 but heard the flame travel through combustion chamber doesnt go to well with the dome shape.
cprtyler
01-06-2010, 09:10 PM
^^^ yea i read ur who to blame thread i would say machine shop new there was a prob due to the no recipte, i really dont think the head was properly cleaned but also also think the last one with there hands on the valvetrain should have went through the head throughly but hey sh!Ť happens when u party naked lol. plus the flame travel is prob due to lack of octain and high comp just like the b16b pistons in a b series (just my opinion) idk. but hey would love to run ya at steele alabama or comicerce ga when we get them going lol just for fun.
