69k miles, brembos & volks...if if is what he says it is then 7500 seems reasonable.

ya just the fact that i OWNED one for 2 years.... ya and the fact that i did mod it out for those 2 years and i know how much it cost to mod out a miata trust me i have b4. obviously you dont no that when you put thousands of dollars into a car you dont get your thousands of dollars back. it just dosent work like that. i have a 94 si and it has umm off the top of my head includeing the car about 9500 dollars into it and it isnt boosted. if u want to come and buy my 94 si for 9500 bux bc that amount was put into it go ahead but i really dont think u will. not to be a jerk but moding out your car is never really a "money maker" and there was a 94 miata (same body style) new paint, same kit, 18" wheels, lowered, sparcos, exhaust and some extras i saw it went for about 3500 or 3000 i think. sure the car has volks and that is possibly the only part that can have a decent resale value

peace

Sorry, not to be a dick but owning one two years doesnt qaulify you to know two cents worth about Miata sale values.

Although you are correct that mods only bring a percentage of their value, you again show your ignorance regarding Miatas and their mods and pricing when you say the Volks are the only item on this car that has "resale value".
I can tell you from first hand experience that I could sell a couple grand worth of parts off that car easily.
As someone who has engaged in buying and selling dozens of Miatas I can tell you that year model car as clean as that one, with that mileage, in stock trim will fetch $5500-6000 easily if properly marketed...and thats with no mods. Add several thousand dollars worth of mods for an additional grand or so and his asking price is right in the ballpark. If someone gets the car for $6500-6900 they will be getting their moneys worth. To be honest with you if it was my car I would strip all or most of the aftermarket parts off it, sell them individually and then sell the car. I would net more then the $7500 he is asking too ;)

Citing some riced out Miata you saw bring a certain price is really proof of nothing. I have seen a 2 year old Mustang GT 5.0, with 40k in perfect shape sell for $1500 before, but thats certainly not the norm.

what you have to realize is that some people are just trying to offload a car quickly, and others don't have that same NEED to sell attitude. for as clean as this car is and what's in it, i'd say his asking price isn't far off. most people tend to lose sight of the fact that you ask high and then negotiate from there. it's a little on the high side, but that can be worked out in negotiation with a serious buyer. if he wants 7500 for the car, then that's what he wants... there's no need for a crusade against what he believes the car to be worth when you're not even interested in buying the thing.
