You say that but the route in the Andes is just as impressive and according to some of the competitors, even more difficult.

All in all, last year's rally lived up to the spirit of the Dakar. I'll be watching day by day again.

One thing I hate about watching the Dakar is it makes me want to take our spare Range Rover and make it a fun off road adventure toy.

RIP Sonia Natalia Gallardo.

She was a spectator that was killed when a vehicle went off the road and fatally injured here.

Yep, RIP. :(

Hopefully the rest of the rally will be a safe one. Always sad to hear a death in motorsport especially to spectators.
