Just finished watching it. Great stuff as usual, rivals the Arctic trip imo.

Those guys have the best jobs in the world, hands down.

I was hoping for a Lada Riva.

Seeing the FJ40 die was heartbreaking. My favorite ever 4x4.

The Range Range has had similar challenges on multiple Camel Trophys in the 80's.

My guess for the Hilux's exclusion is it being a truck vs a classic 4x4.

The Suzuki has a lot of respect to itself as it's the world record holder for highest ever elevation driven.

Proof.

That was a great episode. I just wonder why none of them chose a diesel or turbo diesel vehicle. The turbos would have handled the elevation much easier.

Side note. There is no way in hell they could have made me drive on that road that was basically a paved cliff. The people who drive the buses up there everyday must have balls of steel.

I'll add one more bit of info about the altitudes they were at.

When flying above 12,000 feet, you are legally required to carry oxygen with you. The air is just that thin and I'm sure hypoxia was really setting in.

I watched this ep. on street fire and it was great! ... I think this trip is better than the Arctic one IMO.

This was everything I was hoping for. I had either 4x4 or Rally in mind for this episode and it certainly delivered. Their modifications were badass too. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone know how many more episodes are in the season? I'm expecting at least one more since the voiceover during the credits said, "More Top Gear next Sunday."

I'm surprised the Land Rover was able to go through all that elevation change without much fuss seeing how it was carb'd.
