First off, very special thanks to all the sponsors, competitors, and spectators who supported the 2009 NOS Energy Drink IMPORT FACE-OFF series. 2009 was our best year yet with 22 events nationwide. EVERY repeat location that was not affected by weather or date change had an increase in attendance from all years before. The scene dying is a MYTH.

The series is still growing and will have another national tour with atleast 25 events in 2010. The first IFO in 2010 will mark our 100th event since 2001. 2010 RACE POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP presented by LightningMotorsports.com - The Import Face-Off Race Points Championship is for Heads Up Pro class racers only. Racers will receive 10 points for every elimination round won at each 2010 event. Winners will be chosen for Top 8/16 qualifier classes (FWD or FIP) and for Top 4/8 qualifier classes (AMP/OL) for 5 different colored regions (see map below). All race points winners will receive trophy plus free race and crew entry (limit 3) to all future IFO events FOR LIFE! All trophies will be awarded at finals. Overall national winner will also receive a $2000 Lightning Motorsports certificate. More prizes for individual regions and classes to be announced throughout the year. 2010 SHOW POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP: The Import Face-Off Show Points Championship is for Car Clubs only, not solo entries. Yep, I hope ATL realizes this is not some parking lot meet or TnT session, but an actual COMPETITION with cash payouts and media coverage. If enough do not come out and support the event, it will not/can not be on the 2011 schedule.

For open test and tune racing, YES. Just show up and register at the front gate, $25 for unlimited TnT passes all day on the 1/4 mile drag strip. Gates open at 9am, racing from 11am to 5pm.

If anyone would like to help pass out, please email your name and mailing address to [email protected] Promoters are assigned a number and are paid on commission, $2 for every flier that comes in with your number on it. Spectators bring in the fliers because of the $2 off admission coupon. Checks are mailed out within a week after the event. The program pays well if you get enough fliers out. There are successful, repeat promoters every year at every location.

two race classes or show classes? For show, there is no extra charge. All cars are eligible for multiple classes. For racing, if want to register for 2 classes, you must pay for 2 tech cards, so yes. However, we've been discouraging racers from doing this as there have been too many problems with this lately. Racers are not coming back in time to racer for their next class and their are no refunds if you miss your round.

Yes, we'll do our best to reschedule if it's rained out, but HOPEFULLY weather forecast will be OK. 30/40% isn't so bad. There have been several IFO events with those forecast amounts. Last year had to be canceled because it was 80% forecast for the entire day, and it did rain/mist the entire day.

If the weather is questionable on the morning of the event, call the IFO voice mail for event status, 225-247-RACE (7223). It will be updated regularly.

It looks like the bad weather has shifted to afternoon/evening. Racers, this means rounds might be rushed to get things done early. If you need more time for a quick fix/cool down/etc. to make it back into the lanes for the next round, send someone to the tower to let us know. We can wait if need to.

Car show contestants, judging may be rushed too, so don't get upset if the judges review your car faster than normal.

If it looks like the weather might hold off until evening, schedule will go back to normal times.

IFOs are day time events and have always been on Sundays. More shops and competitors can participate when the events are on Sundays because they are usually off work (most shops are still open for business on Saturdays).

Due to unfortunate events, my blue car will not be in attendance. I will be there helping josh green get into the 10's with his street car if the weather holds out. This really bums me because from the little testing i did, it was a 9 second runout. It will be fixed within the week as the damages are minor but impossible to fix in the next 8-10 hours. If only i had an extra 24 hrs.
