If yall remember I posted pics of a 93 NSX I cleaned for a friend of mine a while back. Well I did his RX7 about a year before I did his NSX and never posted the pics. In his words this car was neglected because it had some oxidation on the roof and hadnt been waxed for about half a year, otherwise it sits either outside under a car cover, in the restaurant parking lot, or in his garage. Id consider this car just routinely upkept, but nothing fancy, definitely not neglected. Anywho, this is the car prior to cleaning:

Im not sure how bad the car looks in the pictures, but i definitely wouldnt say neglected.

I washed it with meguiars #62 wash, cleaned the wells and tires with Megs APC, and cleaned the wheels with #36 (great to wash with BBS approved wheel cleaner on BBS wheels :P.) I then taped her up, went over the body twice with #83 on my g100 (it still had some RIDS, something the G100 couldnt touch.) I then topped the car with #7 and then followed that up with 2 coats of s100 on both wheels and body. Windows cleaned with Stoner, wiped the dash with Megs Quik Interior, wiped the seats with Lexol cleaner then conditioned with Megs leather cleaner/conditioner spray. Sprayed the wells with Megs HD 10:1 and did the tires with that also. Also dressed the under moldings with HD.

After the final waxing in the garage:

I understand the wing is not liked by most, but he likes it. BTW: the power plant more than makes up for the wing:

Nice detail. While can't say the wing is in my taste, I can say its not that bad. I have def seen worse. Beautiful car though.

Yay another FD in town!

Really, if you just got rid of the spoiler or changed it to something else that FD would be done.

'99 conversion isn't really even necessary, cause at least you have the front-lip spoiler already..

:D

Bumer, you broke a cardinal rule on detailing! Cant post before pictures with flash on the paint, and then post a after picture with no flash in the paint!

Looks good. The wing actually isn't that bad to me. It looks better on this car than on a Honda Civic.

Surprisingly it wasnt a flash but direct sun in the first shots. And I thought I had after surface shots, but cant find them after searching my library :( Anywho this was done in july of 08.

The wing is actually a modified veilside C-1

Nice rx7!! well except for the ricer wing..

btw, why does he have the silencer in his exhaust? he wants it to be quiet or something?

Without the silencer the car is rather loud and since he hasnt used it much for the performance aspect, but more of a cruiser, a loud exhaust just doesnt fit.

isnt that kinda the point? but i understand. i just hate how exhausts look when you have the silencer in. plus it takes away from the awesome sound.

Sorry i edited my post. Hes considering getting rid of it lately as he wants more luxury now than performance, as he is an older gentleman, so the loud exhaust is not as much of his thing as of late.

When an FD is cleaned up that well, and waxed and stuff, in any color, they just pop. Those lines are soo sexy. I love it (I am against that wing though, everything else looks fine)

EDIT: Lose the wing and those wheels in a larger size and it would be good to go...

That car is GORGEOUS and in excellent shape...but yea, that wing has to go. I could tolerate that wing if it had a piece going across the top so the ends don't look like an animal's ears. (EDIT: Like the one in smoknlegend's post...not so terrible.)

Nice job on the clean-up!
