I had the D15b motor in my hatch and it was a very good motor.... So i would go with the SOHC... If you put a 8lb. flywheel and stage2 clutch, it would be faster.... I had a buddy that had a stock jdm ZC motor in a eg hatch and I would just walk all over him and all i had done to my d15b is a 8lb. flywheel and stage2 clutch...

punkr6, 1st off very good info sir :goodjob:! 2nd there are way more mods for d15b vtec than for dohc zc. Vtec wins every time and plus it weighs less!!! But go with what suits you best.

Nice comparison, my basically stock D15b2 in my sedan came out of my 91 hatch. Hatch was wrecked... Dumbasses. Anyways, Exedy clutch and Lightened flywheel and i was walkin on a buddy'd 1.6 vtec ek hatck. Rotating mass has alot to do with it. I strongly love my sohc d15. Its such a strong motor, and i never second quess it. Im about to go MPFI y8 head vtec on it and gonna scoot a bit faster

that hatch wasnt wrecked. they simply swapped the b16 out of your car and put in the hatch and put the b2 in your car :2cents:

DOHC will weigh more than the single cam which may be a plus in that department. it's like an h22 in an accord, it doesn't make it hella faster.
